Check Out Minh Ta’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Minh Ta.

Minh Ta

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m an independent Vietnamese R&B artist from Tampa, FL. I dropped out of school at 16 (2016) and pursued a career in music. Since then, I’ve gone on to release over 200 tracks, garnered over 500M+ streams and 1M+ monthly listeners. Recently came back from a sold-out China tour.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My biggest hurdle has been my lack of social media / brand presence. I was able to let my music sell itself for the longest time and because of that I thought I didn’t have to prioritize social media. This year I’ve focused more on content and have grown over 50K+ followers in the last few months.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m known for my R&B works such as “Tonight” and “I Won’t Let You Feel Alone Again,” but I’ve also released alternative rock and hip-hop projects. I’m completely independent and self-produced, and I feel like I’ve been pushing that boundary for a long time. There’s something for anyone in my discography.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
I try not to focus too much on good/bad luck, as it is something I can’t control. You could argue I’ve experienced both along the way, but it’s a bit difficult to pinpoint. I think it’s important to prioritize action, whether it be good or bad, with a higher goal in mind. Recognize windows of opportunities and don’t take them for granted.
