Today we’d like to introduce you to Micah Freeman.
Hi Micah, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Well first, I started at this wing spot in 3rd ward Houston, TX called Wing Quarter & I used to work day in & day out until I came across God & he unction me to pick up an old thing that I had put down & that thing was cutting hair, barbering so once I begin to work at it again I fell in love with it each & every time I touched them clippers it felt like I was in a different time zone. So when I first started it, I still had my 9-5 fast food job & I was cutting hair 5-2am but at the beginning, I was only getting one client a week then suddenly after I began to really work from within & keep God first. The clients began to increase bit by bit each week it went from one client a week to fully booked weeks in a span of six months then it kept getting better & better as I progressed my prices progress including my clients. I was now cutting celebrity clients, which was cool & all, but I really liked the simple fact of having loyal & consistent clients coming back every week & all this was done in my 600 ft living room. I later went on a faith move & decided to get my own suit which was bigger than what I needed, but it was great just for me. After a while, I began to outgrow my environment & I felt like God was calling me higher. So I made an even bigger faith move & moved to Atlanta, Georgia & now I’m rebuilding with God to start something even bigger than what I stated before.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road I faced many trials & tribulations, many doubts if I was even doing the right thing, many setbacks as well, but as long as I kept the faith as small as a mustard seed, I found my strength in God & kept building no matter who was speaking down on me no matter who left or who I had to cut off I kept building.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I do numerous things: I cut hair, I create & design clothing, I motivate & I also teach the word of God Jesus to the people that’s following me on social media. I’m known for pretty much everything I put my hands on, all glory to God, but the thing I’m most proud of & that sets me apart from others is my heart after God, he strengthens me in every way possible that I may run & not grow weary & that I may mount up with wings & soar high like eagles. Isaiah 40:31
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is when me & my lil sis was playing basketball on the tennis court because growing up, they used to always take the basketball goal down, so we made fun with what we had & we just used to go at it every day using the pole as the goal.
