Hi Megan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Coming from a dedicated place of learning and seeking professional and personal growth in every position I’ve had, I’ve always sought out creative minds with visions of how things could be, not just how they are. With a background in film, I’ve spent my entire adult life in the film industry…seeking the ‘how to’ make one’s own mark while working on the largest entertainment IP in the history of filmmaking at Lucasfilm, achieving credits on four of the Star Wars films. I learned and truly absorbed the importance of owning your own IP from the genius of George Lucas, understanding too that profit, serious financial benefits, is made around the creative IP, not the content itself.
Which brings me to LoCo+… as a Content Creator myself, my vision now a reality, has been to solve a very personal hurdle for Content Creators: how to get your content ‘out there’ and to monetize it without the restrictions of having representation and a distributor. LoCo+ is the first streaming network for premium local content. Targeting top-tier content creators by US city, LoCo+ curates and streams stories covering lifestyle, culture, entertainment and business. Unlike mainstream social platforms, LoCo+ is a geo-filtered network that provides a community-based approach to consume content. While improving the efficacy of creators to get premium distribution, LoCo+ offers the opportunity for creators to monetize their content. The app is available on ios and Android, with connected TV to follow. Our mission is to ensure more creators have the ability to launch their work, their careers and to grow in them creatively and financially. By doing so, creators build a stronger sense of community with and within audiences they entertain, enlighten and inspire. LoCo+ is doing just that with a path to communities across America.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Early on, in creating LoCo+, it was clear to me that it was a tall order convincing others of the enormity of my vision, but “Local” is not a fence, it’s a filtered path. In sourcing creators and their content at a local level LoCo+ provides a base from which to start with the opportunity we give creators to grow, no matter what level creator they’re at. While in the process of creating, sharing, growing creator’s profit! There are no limits. Thankfully, that hurdle has fine-tuned my process of meeting with creators and our investors. Presently, both content and financial backing is perceived as the opportunity it actually is.

As one of the founders of LoCo+, I’ve also headed up the Tech team, which is my wheelhouse. While I’ve had positions in various facets of the entertainment industry by way of production, I sought out and worked with brilliant minds, visionaries of incomparable stature and ambition. George Lucas, Kathleen Kennedy, Travis Knight, Henry Selick are all professionals with whom I’ve had the great fortune of learning from. I’ve honed my skills as a visionary to actually make my dream realized. Part of that process of realizing my dream has been to gather a team of believers, people of like-minds with experience in the many areas of making a functioning group of professionals.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Happiness for me has been and continues to be meeting with, inspiring and educating creators to have the voice, their voice, and freedom to create, giving them the opportunity while crafting their art to make money. And for me, personally, happiness is seeing my vision of LoCo+ become a shared reality.
