Check Out Maxwell Pierce’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maxwell Pierce.

Hi Maxwell, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
What’s there to say about your first time you become obsessed with music to the point that you need to be a part of making it. I must have been around 12. All my friends had guitars and so I picked up the bass. I was lucky enough to have amazing teachers and the support of my parents along the way. Even when I was grounded, they never took my bass away. The bands I played in were mostly punk rock but my dad also introduced me to a lot of different types of music as well including jazz and fusion. After high school, I did the whole move-to-LA-and-live-in-a-car thing while playing in different bands and eventually decided to go to Musicians Institute to keep moving forward. Since then it’s been a blur! From teaching to sessions to playing as a pit musician in musicals. This last year I went back to school and graduated with my Master’s in Music. All while being a husband and dad. It’s been an incredible ride and I love getting to be a part of the music.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The struggle that seems to crop up most often is things may not happen as quickly as you want them to. Keep your head up and continue to work for your goals and dreams.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
The simple answer is I play bass. Whether it’s recording for someone’s EP or album, playing for a singer-songwriter at the Hotel Cafe, musical theater run for a productions company, or teaching at Musicians Institute in Hollywood. It’s all about being reliable and easy to get along with as well as being able to play what’s needed from you.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
Hire me to play on your illustrious sessions, gigs and tours. lol
