Today we’d like to introduce you to Matteo Freschi.
Hi Matteo, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Throughout all of high school, I never had a real passion. Like every other kid at my high school, I played sports. More specifically soccer and lacrosse. But after I graduated, I didn’t really have a real passion anymore since I didn’t pursue sports into college. I was gifted a camera as a graduation gift and started bringing it along on small adventures. It started off as a hobby but really became a passion after my freshmen year.
When I was 18, a Freshmen in college my father passed away in a car accident. For a while, I didn’t know how to absorb the situation. Although it took me a while, I had a big realization that life could end at any moment. I quickly became terrified of the idea of not experiencing what life has to offer. So, I did everything. I began doing everything I could to adventure and experience new things. I got into extreme sports like cliff jumping and skydiving. All while creating content to inspire other people. My goal here is to inspire others to live a life people will remember. The goal isn’t to live forever, the goal is to create something that will.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not a single part of my journey has been smooth- just as everyone else’s journey has been. A huge struggle for me with my fathers passing was dealing with my headspace. Throughout my journey, there were times where I was mentally at my lowest.
Times where I fell into a deep hole that I didn’t have the energy to climb out. Providing support for my family, all while trying to pursue being a full-time student, content creator, and work became a lot for me to handle.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I create videos to tell stories and provide beautiful visuals from my adventures! I’m known for creating videos that inspire others to live a full life. Most of my videos are either travel or adventure based. I specialize in stimulating certain emotions in my viewers that motivate them to say yes to life.
Something that I am most proud of is landing my first 5 figure brand deal. Looking back 6 months ago, I would call myself crazy if I knew I had landed a 5 figure brand deal. Six months ago I was struggling to find brands that would work with me on a trade basis. Seeing the improvements from a year ago, two years ago, or even 6 months ago has been very rewarding.
What sets me apart from others is my mission. Going through the experience of my father’s passing has really taught me more about life than any other experience could have. It opened my eyes to the fact that we shouldn’t work the same job our entire lives to retire when we are 65 years old. There are so many other ways to experience life- and my goal is to show others that it is attainable.
What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is growth. When I was younger I used to be on the wrong path. In grade school, I used to get bad grades and surrounded myself with the wrong crowd. But many people let the scars of their past take control of their life when in reality there’s always an opportunity to grow.
Oddly, a lecture from my mom stuck with me and still sticks with me to this day. There was nothing special or profound about that lecture- but it just randomly stuck. Every day now I keep track of everything I do to make sure I’m staying on track to become who I strive to be. Personal growth can be anything from working out, reading, working, relaxing, etc. As long as you are growing as an individual that is what matters.
