Today we’d like to introduce you to Mana Srisudthayanon.
Hi Mana, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
First thing first, I’m so excited to be here! My name is Mana, Visual Development Artist and Illustrator for Animation and Games. I originally come from Thailand. After finishing my BFA. I decided to follow my dream as a Vis-Dev artist so I came to the US.
I first started by building up connections at my university and participating in any activity as much as I can, including art shows or internships. I try to keep practicing and try to put my work out there as much as possible. Breaking the ice has never been easy but I keep trying. I think consistence is a key. People will remember your work more and more. And one day, your work will speak for you.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Little that I know, nothing followed as planned! I moved eight times and even faced ghosts twice! (I will not go into details about it) It has been a challenging time.
But the good thing is. I received many helping hands. I got to work with various studios. I did a job from little to big. I learn a whole lot. Everyone I met along my journey was very kind. They made me grow and glow as an artist. I am always thankful to them for making my journey more meaningful.
I’m so excited about what journey will come next.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I would love to tell you too!
I’m mainly a Visual Development artist and sometime an illustrator. It’s like doing concept art for games and animation. From a review from clients, I think I am good at what I do. I specialize in the environment and prop design. I drawn to vibrant color and simplify shape/compositions.
Most positive reviews from my client are that I can do variest of styles and don’t have a problem to work with other style or work as a team. I have an eye for colors. The way I use shape and do composition is sharp and fresh. The best thing that I’m proud of is the simplest thing that clients can rely on me to deliver good quality of work on time.
Any big plans?
Right now, after coming out of a big break, I’m ready to back into a job-hunting game again! The industry is always busy but I wish for the best! I’m planning to look for work and do a work visa at the same time. It would be stressful and I’m sure people who already have this experience know it.
