Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Elizabeth.
Hi Lauren, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Art has always been my passion. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been painting, drawing, and creating! Growing up as an over-the-top animal lover, it was only natural that I mixed my loved for art with my love for animals. I was destined to be a pet portrait artist… and nothing was going to stop me from achieving my dream.
After years of working in hospitality and marketing, using those skills to build my portfolio, website, and learned how to market myself while painting most nights and weekends… I had finally gained enough traction, customers, and commissions to quit my day job. In 2014, I was able to go full-time with my art, and launched my custom painting business ‘Off The Wall Paintings’ and have painted thousands of pet portraits since then! Spreading love through my art is my greatest joy and true honor.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As with anything good in life, it is not always a smooth road. Being a self-taught artist, I had to put out any doubt from my mind… I had to block out any worry I had over what people would think of my art, what they would think about me. I instead focused on using all of my energy to improve my talent, my skills, constantly growing and never looking back. My confidence as an artist continues to grow, and I am so glad I never gave up because believing in myself and my abilities has not only brought a lot of joy to my customers, but has taught me so much about myself as a human, as an artist, and my purpose in this world.

I paint with acrylics on canvas and specialize in pet portraits. Although I offer any type of custom painting out there (anything from abstracts to landscapes), pet portraits are my most popular paintings…and the love of my life!
