I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As a Latina actor who immigrated to the US, my journey has been challenging. Moving to a new country where English was my second language posed significant obstacles. The entertainment industry still has limited opportunities for Latinos. Overcoming these challenges has required resilience, determination, and a strong belief in my craft. I’ve learned to navigate it by focusing on honing my skills, seizing every opportunity, and advocating for greater representation and inclusivity in the industry.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m an actress with a diverse portfolio spanning both the Dominican Republic and the US. I’ve starred in films like “Quién Manda,” “Más Que El Agua,” “Malos Padres” and “De Pez en Cuando.” Beyond film, I’ve done commercials and music videos, including “Viaje al Infinito” by Richie Oriach. Recently, I completed filming for the TV Show “Coolie” directed by Arvin Chen, and I’m excited to share that “A Tiro Limpio,” one of my recent projects, is set to be released this summer. Last year, I had the opportunity to work alongside Luis Tosar, one of my favorite Spanish actors, in a movie called “Samana.” My work reflects my passion for storytelling and my dedication to bringing diverse narratives to life on screen.
Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I firmly believe that life is about taking risks, and perhaps the biggest risk I’ve taken was moving to another country to pursue my passion for acting. It was a leap of faith that has shaped my journey profoundly. As an actor, I see risk-taking as essential. I thrive on challenges that push me out of my comfort zone, choosing projects that both scare and excite me. It’s through these risks that we discover new depths in ourselves and our craft, ultimately leading to growth and fulfillment.
