Hi Kuan-Hsuan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is KUAN HSUAN LU, I am a Taiwanese. I currently reside and work in the vibrant city of New York. However, my story began in Taiwan, where I was born and raised.
I’ve had a deep passion for design and illustration from a very young age. My journey in the world of design started in Taiwan, where I embarked on a creative path that led me to explore graphic design, motion design, illustration, print design, branding, UI/UX design, and packaging design. With a total of ten years of professional experience in both the USA and Taiwan, I’ve had the privilege to work on a diverse range of projects.
Throughout my career, I’ve strived to communicate information effectively and inject emotion into my work. I’ve found that one of my strengths lies in incorporating illustrative elements to breathe life into my designs. Over the years, I’ve collaborated with various clients and colleagues who have contributed to my growth as a designer.
Today, I find myself in New York, a hub of creativity and innovation. I’m fortunate to be working on a variety of different and challenging design and illustration projects, where I continue to push the boundaries of my creativity and design skills. I am so grateful to everyone I met on this journey. Everyone’s criticism, guidance, opinions, and help are very precious to me. To me, they are all angels in this world.
My journey has been marked by a continuous pursuit of excellence and a deep love for what I do. I’m excited to see what the future holds, and I look forward to creating meaningful and visually engaging experiences for my clients and audience.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey in the world of design and illustration has been incredibly rewarding, but it hasn’t always been a smooth road. Like many creative professionals, I’ve encountered my fair share of challenges.
One of the early struggles I faced was breaking into the competitive design industry. It can be tough to establish yourself, especially in a new country. I had to work hard to build a portfolio and network with the right people to get my foot in the door. But, with determination and perseverance, I overcame this initial hurdle.
Another challenge has been staying up to date with rapidly evolving design trends and technologies. Design is a field that never stands still, so continuous learning is crucial. I’ve invested a lot of time in ongoing education and staying current with the latest tools and techniques to remain relevant in the industry.
Additionally, balancing creative freedom with client expectations can sometimes be a challenge. Striking the right balance between artistic expression and meeting client objectives is an art in itself. It’s a skill that I’ve developed over time by understanding the needs of my clients and finding innovative solutions that satisfy both parties.
Overall, while there have been obstacles along the way, each challenge has presented an opportunity for growth and learning. It’s these experiences that have shaped me as a designer and allowed me to develop the skills necessary to thrive in this dynamic field.

I appreciate the opportunity to share more about my work. I specialize in various aspects of graphic design, motion design, illustration, print design, branding, UI/UX design, and packaging design. What sets me apart is my ability to seamlessly blend these skills to create visually engaging and memorable experiences for my clients and their target audience.
One of the aspects I’m particularly proud of is my talent for infusing illustrations into my designs. I believe that illustration has the power to bring a unique and personal touch to design, making it stand out and resonate with viewers. Whether it’s a brand logo, a website interface, or a packaging design, I enjoy finding creative ways to incorporate illustration elements that tell a story and capture the essence of the project.
I’m also love for my commitment to effective communication through design. I understand the importance of conveying a message clearly and making it visually appealing. This has allowed me to work on projects that range from branding for startups to creating user-friendly interfaces for apps and websites.
What I’m most proud of is the ability to adapt and evolve in a constantly changing industry. Staying innovative and up-to-date with design trends and technologies has allowed me to consistently meet and exceed my client’s expectations. Every project is a unique challenge, and I take pride in finding creative solutions that make my clients’ visions a reality.

One surprising aspect that many people who know my work/brand might not be aware of is my love for organization and travel planning. When I’m not immersed in the creative world of design and illustration, I find a sense of joy and fulfillment in tidying up and decluttering my living space. There’s something incredibly satisfying about creating a well-organized environment that’s both functional and visually pleasing.
On the other hand, travel planning is another passion of mine. I thoroughly enjoy researching destinations, mapping out itineraries, and discovering hidden gems in different places. It’s a way for me to combine my love for design with my love for exploration. The process of planning a trip is, in itself, a creative endeavor, and it often inspires new ideas and perspectives that I can bring back to my work.
These hobbies might seem unrelated to design and illustration, but they serve as a source of balance and inspiration in my life. They remind me of the importance of both structure and adventure and how these elements can enrich our creative thinking. So, while most people might know me for my design work, there’s a whole other side to me that thrives on the art of organization and the excitement of travel planning
