Today we’d like to introduce you to Ksenia Riasnianskaia.
Hi Ksenia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am originally from Moscow, Russia. I was always interested in creative work and art, loved beautiful houses and movies with beautiful sets. I am also is a big fan of Disney’s magical world! As far as I remember myself, I was always drawing and inventing something. I liked to create my own reality, my own world. I started as a Set designer and worked in theater and movies. I liked the pace and the process but later, I felt more excited about the real-world “sets”. I was always looking to find my own voice, my own thing and expression. I went back to school and studied interior design. It involved me completely and I felt so excited to have an opportunity create magical spaces for real people. It was a real magic for me! I’ve got my vision of design and I learned to read and explore people! It was amazing! I started my interior design journey back in Moscow and little by little shaped my own motto and mission. Freedom is knowledge. Beauty is balance. Magic is love. I am passionate about making people’s life better, physical solutions that influence mental and emotional states. I am always looking for the opportunities to create a new way of living – more conscious, sustainable, happy and healthy!
Here in the United States in LA, I feel like I have the freedom to search for ideas and test new approaches to create a better environment. I am convinced that the environment plays a huge role in people’s health, happiness and it needs to be addressed professionally and personally. I am passionate about the way we live and the opportunities to improve it. Being in LA I am continuously studying, improving and developing my own project – Ksenia Design, where I am thriving to test and practice these ideas of new, happier, healthier ways of living combined with technologies and art, sustainable and wellness principles with visual beauty and accessibility. There is always a place for Magic if you believe and are willing to create it!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My journey hasn’t been smooth. Sometimes I felt that I am overwhelmed trying to balance my work, development and personal life, health. It is not so easy to open your heart as an artist and to establish your own vision. I heard a lot that my dream is not livable, that I need to choose something more practical, etc. and sometimes I felt burned out and lost. It is difficult to be alone in a new country far away from my family and friends, but I made this choice to go for my dream to the land of sun, palms, Disney and opportunities. I grew a lot during this journey and became much stronger.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I love to see how my design idea that was just in my head transforms into regality! It is the most exciting moment! I am also passionate about design research, discoveries, and curiosity; that’s why I decided to come for my master’s degree into the United States. I feel that there is so much more to explore and to create! I also like to design products and am passionate about fashion. I think that there is a link between the industries. I have international experience with residential, commercial, hospitality, and healthcare projects and I am proud that my clients and people who will be end users of my spaces were happy to see the design changes. I saw how excited and grateful they were and at that moment I felt rewarded and that I can positively change the world through my art and design. I am always thinking in depth, trying to find the reason behind any design decision and I like to read people and to respond to their needs. I was happy to design as a leading designer and to execute the chain of coffee shops for Coffeecell brand around the world, I traveled to different countries and cities to work on that project! I was grateful for this opportunity. Now I am hitting the new milestones – working in a key position for the hospitality comany and developing my own brand!

I like Latino and belly dances!
