Check Out Keisha Johnson’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keisha Johnson.

Hi Keisha, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I first took an interest in nails when I was in the second grade.

I remember this girl came on the bus wearing red fingernail polish. She told me she had done them herself. I was so intrigued. I ended up finding my mom’s electric blue nail polish and painting my nails.

Over time I managed to collect a shoebox of 93 bottles of polishes. From there, I did everyone’s nails down from family members to neighborhood friends.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Honestly, it has been a smooth road so far as progressing within my career. I would say the only obstacles or struggles I’ve endured have been within myself.

As a creative, I feel as though we can be our own worst critics when it comes to evaluating our craft. That at times can get the best of us.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in colored acrylic enhancements, gel extensions, and pedicures.

My most popular request is my signature nude square nail. It’s simplistic, yet sleek and clean. You know what they say, less is more. I’m most proud of opening my very own private nail studio as of February 2020. This safe space gives not only myself but my clients the opportunity to express themselves, allowing visions to come to life.

I think my personality sets me apart. I’m an extroverted person. So clients tend to feel welcomed as soon as they walk in. When it comes to the Shereeisshe experience getting your nails done doesn’t feel like such a task.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
It would be the time that I went to this theme park called Liberty Land in Memphis, Tennessee.

It’s like a mini Six Flags (which I have never been to yet). It has since been closed down. That place was like Disneyland to small-town people like me.
