Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayno Davinci.
Hi Kayno, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was born and raised in the Bronx NY, I started making music in 2017, my brother a manager for a few artists, I heard some of them, and figured I could do that too. I had a few inspirations from Lil Wayne and 50 cents, so I wanted to be able to do what they did. So I began grinding as hard as I could, I moved to LA by myself to make it happen and I’m still hustling.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not, I am my biggest critic and I do not like to drop music without making sure it is perfect. I have so many unreleased songs that I feel are radio ready, but without the proper marketing strategies and tools I wouldn’t want to put out hard work and have it go nowhere. I’ve had many sleepless nights thinking of game plans without coming up with a corny gimmick to make my talents genuinely affect people organically.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a rapper/model.
I am most proud of my music. I don’t see music as something I’m just doing. It’s my only resort because I genuinely feel the happiest when I perform or when I’m in the studio. The feedback that I get from those when they hear my music, the amount of people waiting for me to drop and constantly hit me up waiting for me. It’s the humblest feeling ever. I know I’m going to get there I just need to just get there.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I’m around big artists a lot, I go to a lot of video shoots to either network or be in certain music videos especially if I like the artist personally. I’ve had big establish artists listen to me and tell me “I’m up next” but I had to get out of the mindset that someone can put me on. My advice to those trying to make it in this league is understanding that NO ONE can put you on. Unless they’re drake or diddy, it can only be you. You have to put in that work and your fans and the people around you will put you on.
