Today we’d like to introduce you to Karola Raimond.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I grew up bilingual between Frankfurt, Germany and New York City. I have Italian heritage and hold dual citizenship (USA/Germany). After being trained in ballet and martial arts, my desire for storytelling soon brought me to acting and writing.
I graduated with a Master of Arts in Media Sociology and Social Psychology from Frankfurt University while landing numerous guest-star roles on German television dramas. I was also a popular Motion Capture actress and worked for major European video game manufacturers.
As a Storyteller, I’m all about expression, empowerment & the power of transformation. I strongly believe in uplifting and inspiring to create positive change.
I moved to Los Angeles in 2009 and began appearing in national television commercial campaigns while simultaneously exploring my spiritual studies, becoming a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher and discovering the Akashic Records. The Akasha are a universal energy log. A google search engine for the Soul. They help to find healing, clarity, guidance & direction for those who desire to know.
My first short film that I wrote, produced and starred in, THE CUDDLER won multiple awards at international Film Festivals with a screening highlight at the Cannes Film Festival in 2017. Shortly after, I signed a distribution deal and my comedy The Cuddler was released on Amazon Prime. Recently I was informed that after two years on Amazon Prime, my film was suddenly banned for being too “racy”. I can promise it’s not, rather it’s about reverse gender roles and female empowerment. For the past couple of years, I’ve been creating & writing a limited TV-series with my writing partner, it’s an occult tale of supernatural horror, and we are currently in the process of finding a production company/showrunner to partner up with. We also just finished post-production for a dark psychological thriller CHRYSALIS that we wrote & crowdfunded in 2020. The film carries the themes of identity loss and fragmentation of self.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Oh my, yes it’s been a path of many challenges and setbacks. I honestly believe the creative/artist journey is not for the faint of heart. The amount of rejection and uncertainty can be soul-crushing at times. What has helped me a lot is learning to not let those obstacles define my value/worth as an artist or human being. And it took growth to change my thinking around it. I believe my daily meditation and yoga practice has helped a lot in the process. Also, I love how much changing the perspective on experiences, for example from seeing them as “obstacles/challenges” to welcoming them as “opportunities” creates a huge shift within.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I feel my greatest strength as a Storyteller is that I’m a highly intuitive Empath & an infinite Seeker. I’m deeply connected to the mysteries of life, but I am also very grounded. We are living through profound times of change on earth and realizing more than ever that as Pierre Teilhard de Chardin said “We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.”
The Stories I feel compelled to tell are meant to inspire, uplift & empower, but I don’t shy away from the darkness that often accompanies the journey of transformation. The dark corners of the human psyche that have to be revealed, so that the light can shine on them bringing them to the surface to be released. It’s an alchemical process. These themes fascinate me as an artist.
Also, connecting with the Akashic Records and sharing my gift as a Reader has been deeply rewarding on my creative journey. Receiving an Akashic Record Reading is an intimate, unique experience between the individual whose records are being read, the practitioner, and the source energy of one’s consciousness. Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
I wish I didn’t doubt myself as much when I first started out. Thinking back I gave too often my power away believing that others knew better. I am convinced that it’s essential to have the courage to follow your own divine blueprint, even if no one understands the choices you are making. We are all such magnificent snowflakes and embracing our uniqueness is much more empowering and rewarding than trying to fit into some sort of cooky-cut version of ourselves.
