Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Lange.
Hi Joshua, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey into dentistry began with a deep-rooted commitment to service. While earning my undergraduate degree in neuroscience and physiology at UC San Diego—and raising two young children—I developed a strong passion for community dentistry. I was heavily involved in outreach programs serving underserved populations, and initially considered a career in medicine. But during a hospital externship, I realized I was searching for something more personal. I wanted the opportunity to build long-term, meaningful relationships with the people I served—and dentistry offered that path.
I went on to earn my DDS from the University of Detroit Mercy, where I continued to prioritize service-driven care. After graduating, I spent my first year fully immersed in advanced training in implant dentistry. In 2018, I purchased my first practice in Temecula, California, and have been grateful every day for the opportunity to grow with an amazing team and community.
I’m passionate about continuing education and have completed advanced training in implant dentistry, cosmetic procedures, and digital full-arch workflows to provide the highest level of care to my patients.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Learning how to run a practice while also trying to be the kind of doctor I wanted to be was incredibly stressful—especially while raising a young family. In those early years, I poured everything I had into my patients and my practice, but I neglected my own health. I gained a significant amount of weight, struggled with chronic pain, and developed high blood pressure. I was on the verge of being prescribed several medications, and I realized something had to change.
Instead of accepting that as my new normal, I decided to take my life back. I started simply by walking every day. That led to riding my Peloton bike, lifting weights again, and slowly rebuilding my health. Over time, I lost nearly 100 pounds and gained back not just energy and strength—but clarity, resilience, and joy. That journey helped me become a better doctor, parent, and leader, and it continues to shape the way I care for others.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
At Posh Dental, my work is focused on full-arch smile transformations using digital workflows, advanced implant dentistry, cosmetic procedures, and sedation. I specialize in helping patients restore their confidence through comprehensive, customized care—whether that means replacing missing teeth, creating a brand-new smile, or helping someone feel calm and safe in the dental chair for the first time in years.
We’re known for going the extra mile. My team and I are deeply committed to making sure our patients feel truly seen and heard. We understand that dentistry isn’t just clinical—it’s deeply emotional and personal. That’s why we take the time to build trust and tailor every experience to each individual.
I’m especially proud of the smile transformations we’ve delivered over the years. We’re often referred to as transformation experts, and it’s something I take to heart. I work tirelessly because I know what it feels like to go through personal transformation myself. That journey fuels my passion to help others rediscover their health, confidence, and sense of self—one smile at a time.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Something that might surprise people who know me through my work is how much I love the arts and humanities. While a lot of my professional life is rooted in science, precision, and clinical outcomes, I’ve always been deeply inspired by creativity and culture. I play the saxophone, I speak Spanish, and I love reading, traveling, and learning about people and places that are different from my own experience.
I’m also a huge fan of sports and being active—movement has been a big part of my personal journey—but the part of me that connects with the arts is just as important. I think that balance between science and soul is part of what shapes my approach to dentistry. There’s real art in what we do, especially when it comes to restoring confidence through a smile.
