Check Out Jorge De Los Rios’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jorge De Los Rios.

Hi Jorge, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born and raised in Puerto Rico and have been passionate about the entertainment industry since my teenage years. This passion motivated me to study communications and engage in various independent projects throughout college. At the age of 24, I made the bold decision to move to Los Angeles, California, in pursuit of opportunities in the world of entertainment, business and technology.

Now, I also co-host a podcast with two other “Boricuas” in the diaspora discussing social issues in Puerto Rico and around the world.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My career path has been anything but smooth, filled with twists, turns, and valuable lessons. I started acting in small theater productions while juggling a sales job at a clothing store, college, and maintaining personal relationships, which taught me discipline, time management, and resilience from an early age. After graduating in telecommunications, I moved first to Miami and then to Los Angeles, navigating the uncertainties of starting over in new cities.

In Los Angeles, I initially worked as a background actor before transitioning into car sales, where I experienced both successes and setbacks. The challenges were constant, but my strong work ethic allowed me to rise to the role of Internet Sales Manager. It was in this position that I discovered digital marketing, laying the foundation for building my personal digital brand and learning to turn struggles into opportunities for growth.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
“Pa’ Que Sepas” is a startup, Spanish podcast that highlights the voices of Puerto Ricans living in the diaspora while exploring important social issues affecting Puerto Rico and the world. Our focus is on providing thoughtful, engaging conversations that blend personal stories, societal analysis, and reflections on current events. What sets us apart is our ability to connect the Puerto Rican diaspora by creating content that resonates with both local and international audiences.

We specialize in storytelling that educates, entertains, and sparks meaningful dialogue. Our community know us for our mix of humor and critical thinking that keeps conversations relatable yet thought-provoking. I’m most proud of is how we’ve built a community that feels heard, represented, and inspired to engage with social issues.

Through Pa Que Sepas, we offer a platform that combines culture, perspective, and reflection—something unique in the podcast space for Puerto Ricans in the diaspora.

How do you think about luck?
Although luck is always a factor due to arbitrary connections, external situations, and especially circumstances beyond our control, this is something we should not wait for in order to take action.

I have never been a person to wait for things to happen in any aspect of my life. There is a saying that opportunity meets you when you are prepared, and I believe we should always work so that when the right moment arrives, we can capitalize on it.

For example, while a random valuable connection can be a great advantage,If you have nothing to offer, you might meet the right person—but that person may not be interested in helping you because you weren’t prepared for the opportunity.
