Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Faulks.

Jonathan, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey began as a high school freshman when I tagged along with my mother to visit a friend’s floral studio. I instantly fell in love with the craft and returned to help as often as possible. So much of my skill and passion is rooted in that little Kentucky shop.

In 2018, in memory of my beloved mother, I founded the Faulks Floral Co.

Initially, we focused on weddings and special occasion gifting. As our brand and portfolio grew, higher-profile opportunities — like being the florist for The Kelly Clarkson Show — began to find us. Today, we collaborate with celebrities, TV and film productions, brides, and top-tier event coordinators to fill their lives with beautiful flowers.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There is no easy way to start a business. I expected that to be true, and I was not disappointed. For the first year, I was plagued with anxiety and financial concerns. Flowers are expensive, finicky, and take up a lot of space in a one-bedroom apartment.

To my surprise, I also dealt with unnecessary sexism toward males trying to enter this industry. While it didn’t deter me, it did throw me for a loop in the beginning.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We focus on one-of-a-kind, handcrafted floral designs for any occasion. From custom bridal bouquets, ceremony florals and reception centerpieces, we will be there for you every step of the way, sharing your story one stem at a time. Our Style: Soft, fresh, organic, and simply beautiful.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Get your hands on flowers. As many as you can. As often as you can. You’ll find your unique creative voice, and the rest will be history.
