Check Out Joao Bosco’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joao Bosco.

Hi Joao, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born in Manaus, Brazil.
I’ve been tattooing for over 20 years.

I moved to England when I was 25, and since 2018 I’ve also been spending time in Los Angeles. I split my life between London and LA — it keeps me busy, but I like it.

I love travelling, and the best bit is I can leave my stuff in both cities, so I’m always travelling light.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Keeping my business in London floating have been difficult . To manage a business from a distance is hard. But luckily I have a great team which I trust and count on – they are the best and I’m so lucky for having them working with me

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialise in large-coverage tattoos.
It’s not just about choosing a good design or composition — it’s more like solving a puzzle: how do you make a tattoo look like it’s always been part of the client? To do it properly, you need to understand anatomy, movement, angles, and shapes. It’s fascinating.

I’m learning every day, and honestly, I don’t think I’ll ever learn everything I need to in a single lifetime.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Learn to forgive — yourself and other people.
Learn to ignore your own thoughts sometimes — too many thoughts, too many problems.

Learn to move through life knowing that, in the end, nothing really lasts and we’ll all be gone and forgotten at some point. And even with that awareness, still show up, still deal with challenges with a positive attitude, and, more than anything, with gratitude.
