Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenae
Hi Jenae , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a child, my parents always encouraged me to believe that I could be anything I wanted to be. Every few weeks, my ambitions would shift, and I’d dive headfirst into my latest dream. One week, I transformed my room into a makeshift doctor’s office, complete with a toy stethoscope, embodying the role of a dedicated physician. The next, I’d reinvent my space as a vibrant classroom, complete with a chalkboard, embracing the persona of an enthusiastic teacher. This early exploration of shifting roles and dreams taught me to adapt and reinvent myself with each new aspiration. This childhood curiosity and flexibility have stayed with me, fueling my drive to continually evolve and pursue new goals with the same passion and creativity.
As we grow older, it often seems that our natural curiosity diminishes, and society begins to shape us into a single career path. Many ambitious 18-year-olds choose a profession, pursue an education, and commit to that field, believing it will define their lifelong journey. However, as they age, they might desire a new direction but feel daunted by the prospect of starting over. I’ve never been weighed down by these fears. Instead, I view each new path as an opportunity that requires careful planning and effort. Through my various reinventions and life changes, I’ve learned to shift my mindset from “but I can’t because, or but I don’t know what to do, to every time I heard myself say the word but I would instantly say “how,” so the mindset would instantly change to “but how” which led to answers instead of but leading to reasons never to start.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road hasn’t always been smooth, but every challenge has been a valuable learning experience. I used to feel frustrated when things didn’t go as planned or when difficulties arose, but I’ve come to see these moments as opportunities for growth. Each setback and obstacle has taught me new skills, broadened my perspective, and provided valuable insights. Now, rather than feeling disheartened by bumps in the road, I approach them with a mindset of, “Let’s figure this out.” These challenges are now seen as chances to improve and evolve, turning potential frustrations into stepping stones for personal and professional growth.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Something that sets me apart from others is that I can not be put into a box. I wear a lot of hats in life, and they seem to contradict each other. I am currently the captain of Team USA martial arts and I will be competing in the World Games for the 4th time. I am also a international published cover model. The more rewarding aspect of what I do is that I run a nonprofit called Stay Safe, where we teach women and children safety skills to help them stay safe in life. I run a marketing company that helps build brands, and I own a publishing company called Victory Publishing. Victory Publishing publishes books meant to inspire and encourage people to live their most victorious life.
Most importantly, I am the most proud of my son! Being a mom is the most fulfilling adventure I have ever had, and that little boy reminds me to reinvent and rediscover and to love life all over again.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I’m often seen as an open book to those who know me personally. However, for those who only know me through the internet, one aspect they might not realize is that I’m a mother. I choose not to share details about my son online because I prefer to keep his life private, shielding him from the potential harshness of the digital world.
Many people perceive me as someone who can handle everything effortlessly—like a machine that never falters. I often find myself bearing the weight of others people’s problems and struggles because they believe I can take it all. What might be surprising to some is that I, too, have moments of vulnerability. I experience breakdowns, tears, and times when the load becomes too heavy. While people may see the resilient, never-give-up side of me, they might not see the moments when I’m lying on the floor, emotionally drained and exhausted, taking time to regroup before I can tackle the next challenge.
