Check Out Jaeden Gomez’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaeden Gomez.

Hi Jaeden, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Jaeden Rae Gomez, I am 22 years old, and I am from Albuquerque, New Mexico. I have always been a creative soul from a young age and have always been inspired by dance. My mom was a dancer, and my dad was also a musician so I was constantly inspired by music. Initially, I went to school for cosmetology and was going to stay in Albuquerque. Along the way, scripts changed, I started TikTok, met Kara Cannella through TikTok (who’s now my roommate), and I decided to make the decision of pursuing dance and Social Media in Los Angeles. Now I am living out my passions surrounded by my inspirations, and I couldn’t be more thankful!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely was not a smooth ride to pursue my passions in LA. I worked a lot of jobs, lots of hours & staying in to save all of my money. Also trying to find an affordable apartment, bringing my dog, maintaining relationships with friends back home, it was definitely a bumpy road. Also being a young individual on social media can be a lot on one’s mental health, that was something I had and still continue to try and get used to. Thankfully, I’m not alone and I have my best friend/amazing dancer Kara Cannella by my side through it all! I wouldn’t change a thing!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Mainly for work, I’m a social media influencer & dancer. What I am most proud of is that I choreographed the viral TikTok dance to Lizzo’s new hit, “About Damn time”. That dance absolutely changed my life, and I’m so thankful for the dance community and Lizzo for making it a worldwide trend!

What sets me apart from others, is that my energy is always positive and outgoing, and always try to see the best in every situation.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I wouldn’t say I’m the biggest risk taker, but if I hadn’t have taken the risk of moving to LA, I wouldn’t be here accomplishing what I have! I see risk as a flirt. Everyone knows the saying, “You’ll never know unless you try”, it really is true. I was so prepared to stay in New Mexico and stick to what I thought I was “supposed” to do. Risk is the forbidden fruit, it’s sweet.
