Today we’d like to introduce you to Ivan
Hi Ivan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was born in the Soviet Union and during the Cold War, my parents took the biggest of risks in bringing our family to the United States. After High School I spent many years learing the art of filmmaking, concluding my three college education with a Bachelor Degree in Cinematography and Motion Picture from World Acclaimed Brooks Institute of Photography. Upon my graduation I was awarded the President’s Award being the 51st winner in the school’s 50 year history.
I was working on a TV show for FX Networks when I stumbled on to a local Deathmatch wrestling promotion owned by the infamous Pornographer Rob Black. I eventually got close with that promotion shooting promos and ringside camera. What followed was my jump into the adult industry shooting and editing behind the scenes. This was 2002 and the industry was flowing with productions. my behind the scenes got the attention of reviewers who started doing separate reviews of my Behind the Scenes vignettes. When I was given an opportunity to create I ran with it, quickly establishing ,my brand and style. I then helped start and build the biggest Pornstar website network in our industry before helping build the brand of Alt Erotic that has won 4 years ina row for our Website categories at award shows.
Recently I won back to back years for Best Deathmatch Phootgrapher, doing this in my firts two years shooting this type of wrestling genre. My adult career features my Two Hall of Fames with AVN Awards and Urba X Awards. Pus winning Director of the Year four times in various award shows.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In this business there are always pitfalls and urges that are thrown your way. As a professional and person with moral you can work your way through all of it. Nothing is different in real life. it’s how you choose to deal with it with crying victimization all the time.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As an artist, this is my dream job. I get to create on my terms with some of the most unique people on the planet. With Alt Erotic I shoot Alt models which some have the most amaizing body art and modifications. This lets me open up my mind to creations with storylines, lighting, camera work, tellign stories with shadows and catering to each individual models looks. It’s priceless!
What matters most to you?
Obviously family matters most. Being Russian we tend to really cherish families. That is something is lacking too much in today’s society.
