Hi Hung, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
The inception of the Golf & Gaming Club dates back to October 2020, a time when the world was grappling with the challenges of a complete shutdown due to the pandemic. With in-person gaming events at a standstill, the club emerged as a response to the void, organizing a tournament specifically tailored for content creators and individuals in the gaming industry.
The inaugural event took place at the prestigious Shadowcreek GC in Las Vegas, generously sponsored by Coca-Cola. The success of this tournament sparked immense interest, leading to a surge in inquiries from individuals eager to join the club upon their return. Fast forward to the present day, and the Golf & Gaming Club has seamlessly hosted tournaments for an impressive 35 consecutive months.
The club’s roster boasts 160 members, a dynamic mix of gaming and entertainment executives, influencers, professional athletes, and more. Together, these members command a staggering social reach of over 150 million across various social media platforms. Such widespread influence has fueled the club’s popularity, evident in the substantial waiting list of over 1400 individuals vying for membership and eager to become a part of this thriving community.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Building and sustaining the Golf & Gaming Club has been no small feat. The meticulous planning of each event, thorough screening of potential members to ensure the perfect fit, and the simultaneous challenge of creating a brand from the ground up have demanded significant time and effort. All of this has been accomplished while juggling the responsibilities of a full-time job.
Launching a social club populated by highly successful individuals with discerning expectations presents a unique set of challenges. Balancing a multitude of personalities within the club, each with their own distinct traits and preferences requires a delicate touch. Navigating the dynamics of a community comprised of accomplished professionals in the gaming and entertainment industry adds an extra layer of complexity to the task.
Despite the hurdles, the commitment to excellence and the passion for creating a thriving community have driven the Golf & Gaming Club to its current success. The dedication to maintaining a harmonious balance among diverse personalities while delivering exceptional events has become a hallmark of the club’s journey.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As the President of Full Squad Gaming, the largest gaming organization on TikTok, my professional journey is a testament to a unique blend of experiences in both gaming and traditional sports. Prior to joining the gaming community, I was managing the brand of the Philadelphia Flyers in the NHL.
Throughout my career, I’ve been a storyteller, weaving compelling narratives that transcend the boundaries between sports and gaming by authentically engage audiences and ingniting their passions.
The GGC is my proudest accomplishment to date. The community we have built is special and has been able to impact the lives and careers of many of its members. The GGC also helps to grow the game that I love and brings new golfers to the sport.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
In my professional journey, I attribute much of my success to the profound skill of forging authentic connections and fostering opportunities for others. Having had the privilege of working in dynamic and thrilling industries, I recognize the far-reaching impact each of my actions can have on individuals. Central to my approach is the belief that positioning people in environments where they can thrive is the cornerstone of success.
