Check Out Gabriella Giardina’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriella Giardina.

Hi Gabriella, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Born in Ragusa, a beautiful city in the far south of Italy, far from the spotlight of the world of cinema, I have nourished a passion for the arts and a joy in entertainment since childhood. I love exploring the feeling of being somebody else, fitting in their shoes, understanding their motivations, and, most importantly, making my audience live the experiences, the emotions, the lessons, and the lives of the characters I represent. The hunger to develop my skills as an actress led me to travel the globe to master a variety of characters growing on different levels, emotionally, physically, and vocally.

2013 marked a memorable milestone in my career as I graduated from WWI in India. During the same period, I played a role in the Bollywood film “Yaariyan” by T-Series Production, one of the most important production companies in Bollywood, directed by Divya Kumar. The movie won the Star Box Office India Award 2014 for the Film Album of the Year and the Stardust Award India for Best Music Director. I was also starring in the Music Video for “Paani Paani” by famous singer Yo-Yo Honey Singh, one of the soundtracks for “Yaariyan”, which recorded more than 161 million views since its take-off. It was exciting!

My journey, and passion for acting, brought me to the city of dreams (Los Angeles) in 2015, where I followed training and specialization programs. Over the years, I have been involved in numerous projects, which allowed me to work with notable Directors and Photographers, playing leading and co-leading roles for several short films, commercials and music videos. Here in Los Angeles, I reached another milestone in my career as I had the opportunity to star in the leading role in the Music Video “Leila”, by the famous singer Jan Khalib, recording over 140 million views since its take-off.

Most recently, in 2021 and again in 2022, I collaborated with the famed beauty products line Esker to promote Esker Products in the United States of America. I was also involved in the multi-award-winning commercial for PitaMan, directed by Alexander McKee. This year I also had the pleasure to shoot for a comedy, “Restrictions”, already an official selection of the SATX Cinema Showdown 2023, Lift-Off Global Network, and won best comedy at International Gold Awards. In this short, where I interpret Kate, a gathering of friends is shortly interrupted by the inconvenience of individual dietary restrictions.

During another of my most recent projects in December 2022, I had the pleasure to work for the famous car brand Chevrolet. On this occasion, I took part in their commercial for the new SUV, which will be released on all their platforms and showcased within their showrooms.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Any new role you take on will have its own challenges, particularly when you work on different types of projects, from commercials to modeling, from music videos to films. However, there is a common challenge: the ability to project the vision behind the script. I always aim to deliver the story’s vision or what a brand stands for.

In my opinion, the only way to achieve this is to be fully dedicated to the task. To understand and deliver the core vision of a project, an actor must work scrupulously and in advance of schedule. It is critical to research, engage in conversations with directors and brand owners, and truly invest yourself wholeheartedly in everything you are doing. Last but not least, it is key to believe in yourself and be confident that the hard work at the end always pays off.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
The hunger to develop my skills as an actress led me to travel the globe to master a variety of characters growing on different levels, emotionally, physically, and vocally. My personal and professional life is a positive story that I believe can motivate anybody who has a dream and needs to find the determination to pursue it. There are no dreams that are too difficult to transform into reality.

I dreamed of being an actress since I was a little girl, closed in her room, playing a role I had just watched in a movie. And since then, I moved from one experience to another. I studied and specialized in multiple acting techniques; I lived across several countries, meeting people in the industry who helped me improve my skills as an actress; with dedication, humbleness, and tenacity, I worked day by day to follow my passion.

All those experiences made me a versatile actress and model. I have played, in award-winning and festival-selected projects, dramatic and comedy leading roles, excelling in both genres. I worked with highly recognized brands, such as Esker and Chevrolet.

What does success mean to you?
Like I mentioned before, any new role you take on will have its own challenges, particularly when you work on different types of projects. I believe the most challenging element of each project is the ability to bring the vision behind the script to life. Success for me means being able to do what you love and knowing that you effectively conveyed the message, the emotion, the story. Success means being able to move someone or knowing that your interpretation had an impact on them.
