Allow me to introduce myself. I am Filipe Ramos, aged 30, originally from Brazil. My professional journey commenced at the age of 16 within the realm of hairdressing. Having pursued ballet since the age of 7, my affinity for the arts has been ingrained in me since childhood. Through the medium of hairdressing, I find a canvas to express my artistic inclinations.
Departing from my familial abode at the age of 17, I ventured to Sao Paulo, a metropolis where my passion for the craft flourished exponentially. Working alongside a renowned celebrity hairdresser, I honed my skills under his tutelage. Subsequently, an opportunity arose to relocate to Los Angeles, where I joined a salon led by a fellow Brazilian entrepreneur. At the tender age of 20, I seized this pivotal moment, realizing it as a significant milestone in my career trajectory. Serving clientele within prestigious locales such as Beverly Hills, particularly among celebrities, instilled in me the aspiration to carve my own path.
In collaboration with my husband, we embarked on the journey of entrepreneurship, culminating in the establishment of Allure Hues Salon. Our endeavor burgeoned over four years, necessitating a transition to a larger venue situated prominently on Robertson Blvd. And that’s where I could really started focusing on doing more partnerships with celebrities and getting where I want to be. To me, this is only the start.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been always easy, first my profession is a craft, so the consistency is key. The second part is being an immigrant, not speaking the language, and not knowing anyone can be very challenge.
