Check Out Faith Emmanuel’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Faith Emmanuel.

Hi Faith, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my career as a Tax enthusiast working with a tax consulting company before venturing into Human Resource Management.

People are important to processes and strategies and this quickened my interest in charting a career path in HR. I started by taking professional certifications and volunteering to work in the HR unit and getting my hands on HR projects.

Today. I am the Lead, People and Culture for one of the burgeoning fin-techs in Africa, Cowrywise.

By the side, I run a miniature consulting service, Luminous consult focused on equipping undergraduates and recent graduates with the relevant employability skills to thrive in the corporate world.

I have published two e-books, “Chronicles of an intern”, a self-guide to getting the best out of your career through internships and Lustre- an easy-to-read handbook on building an irresistible personal brand.

I also published two exciting chapbooks, Lagos doesn’t sleep and Adulting in Nigeria.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I had a break in high school, which affected my education trajectory.

I have also had different career challenges thanks to the skewed unemployment ratio in my country, but being aware of trends, seeking new challenges and continuously developing myself positions me for different opportunities that come my way.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My work involves managing people and piloting processes that enable the organization reach its desired goal. As an HR professional, I am known for my array of exciting experiences despite my young career-age.

I recently completed my Global Professional Human Resource (GPHR) examinations from the HRCI and that for me was a great feat. I also possess cross-industry experience across consulting, Renewable energy, and now Fin-tech, this positions me well for a Human Resource Business Partner role in a related industry I find myself.

If you ask me what I do every day, it’s simple.

“I make the employees happy and productive so that they can accelerate the attainment of the business goals and objectives”.

Asides that, I am a creative writer and poet, I have won a couple of poetry awards and competitions, publishing two chapbooks (Lagos doesn’t sleep and Adulting in Nigeria) during the process.

Managing my creative expressions alongside my professional demands is one of the few things that set me apart.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I do enjoy music, sports and making new friends.
