Today we’d like to introduce you to Evelyn Baez.

Evelyn Baez

Hi Evelyn, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I grew up in Lake Elsinore, CA. I received my B.A. in Communications and Business Marketing at Cal State Dominguez Hills in 2019. I’m half Mexican and half Guatemalan, born and raised in Riverside County. I’ve been an entrepreneur since I was 6 because of the way I conducted business with my friends at such a young age. I began my journey selling candy bars, snacks, bookmarks and eventually paying my friends in “profits”. One day, my 5th-grade teacher asked me to stay after class. She then asked me, “Evelyn, what do you want to be when you grow up?”… I said, “I want to be famous and on TV,” which is every kid’s dream! She said, “Evelyn, you’re going to become a very successful business women. That’s what you’re going to be.” A few years later, I finally understood what she really meant. She saw the entrepreneur spirit in me at 11 years old when I didn’t. I learned how to borrow money, make profits, and pay back what I borrowed. Yes, at the time, my mom was loaning me money weekly, and I was paying her back. Eventually, I was able to buy more merchandise to make even more! I liked the idea of being able to manage and handle my own money at a very young age. I was able to buy things I didn’t need but wanted, such as toys! (I collected Tamagotchi’s during this time, and at the time, they were $20 each and not worth it for my parents)

When I started college, I still wanted to “be on TV and famous”, but in reality, I wanted to work for a production company and be part of events, but that faded away quickly after I realized I didn’t want to work under someone for the rest of my life. My last year of college, I began researching for new opportunities that would make my soul happy.

After I graduated, I took on a full-time assistant job as a broker on the West Side of LA. That’s originally where I started learning the ropes, such as work ethic, waking up early, reading books, the bible, and growing in all aspect of life. I decided to pursue Commercial Real Estate a few months after getting my license and took the leap of faith in my career. I’ve been with Lyon Stahl Investment Real Estate for 4 years now and I’ve been growing each year I am here. I’ve learned so many valuable lessons and wouldn’t trade them for anything. These past 4 years of growth have taught me lessons on how to manage and invest my money properly. I’ve been able to plant seeds for retirement and for my future family.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This journey has taught me a lot of valuable lessons, and there were a lot of growing pains, to say the least. I have two quotes that resonate with me, “Nothing worth having comes easy” & “short term loss for long term gain”. There have been plenty of times where I felt lonely because of the sacrifices I needed to make. Sometimes in life, you need to put your foot on the ground and say no to things that do not serve your purpose or get you one step closer to your goals. A few struggles I’ve come across is simply accepting the fact to saying no and prioritizing my goals first.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar with what you do, what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a multi-family specialist at Lyon Stahl Investment Real Estate. As a Senior Agent, I works with investment properties throughout the Los Angeles area. I come from an entrepreneurial spirit, bilingual, and marketing background, which aids my real estate skills. I’m known for representing Sellers and Buyers on Multi-Family transactions. I’m very passionate about teaching the Latino Community on how successfully acquiring apartments and leveraging their equity into building a bigger portfolio. These past 4 years I’ve been very active in Women Empowerment Events. My responsibilities include providing clients with the latest information and research in their specific markets, as well as handling various client services when the need arises, such as marketing, translating, and the negotiation of transactions.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
There are a few ways I am looking for a partnership and collaboration. For partnership, I’m looking for people who are already in the industry and would like to partner up on deals. For collaboration, perhaps you have a skill I don’t have, and we can join forces in this field. Maybe you’d like to learn how break into the industry and would like to partner up. There are a lot of different options, and I’m open to all of them!
