Check Out Elsian Atienza’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elsian Atienza.

Hi Elsian, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Elsian and I go by the artist name “LCN!” — I am a Filipino singer / songwriter from Seattle. My music blends indie pop, R&B, and electronic influences, and is deeply inspired by life experiences including growing up, relationships, and the ongoing journey of self discovery. I also take pride in my Filipino roots, so cultural influence is something I carry with me in every song I write.

Music has always been a part of my life, but I never imagined it would turn into a career. Growing up, I would perform at local music events and post singing covers on YouTube for fun. That creative side of me was always there, but I didn’t take music seriously until 2023, when I started posting my original songs on TikTok. One of my videos blew up and I noticed people were connecting with my music in a way I never expected.

From there, things took off. I had the opportunity to open for artists like Jimmy Brown, Car, the Garden, and Janine on their North American tours. In 2024, I signed with 88rising, which was a huge milestone for me. I’ve also performed at major festivals like Capitol Hill Block Party and Seattle Pride, and earlier this year, I sold out my first headline show.

I am now working on my first EP and look forward to expanding my audience. At the end of the day, my goal is simple, to create music that makes people feel seen and understood. This is just the beginning and I’m excited for what’s next!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. After graduating high school in 2021 and starting college, I put music on hold to focus on school. In 2022, I hit a low point where I felt completely unmotivated and unsure of what direction I was heading in. I started questioning everything, what I wanted to do, if I was making the right choices, and whether music was still part of my future.

That’s when I was reminded that music has always been a part of me. I realized I could use it to process what I was going through, and songwriting became my way of expressing emotions I couldn’t put into words. I started creating music in my bedroom — just me, my mic, and my laptop. At first, it was just for myself, but when I started posting clips online, people resonated with them. That connection gave me the push to keep going.

Another big challenge has been the pressure of comparison. It’s easy to look at other artists and feel like you’re not moving fast enough or doing enough. In the beginning, I struggled with that a lot, constantly questioning if I was good enough or if I was “too late” to pursue music seriously. But over time, I learned to stay focused on my own path. Everyone moves at their own pace, and as long as I’m growing and creating music that feels authentic, I know I’m on the right track.

There have been moments of doubt, burnout, and creative blocks, but every challenge has taught me something. Looking back, I’m grateful for the struggles because they shaped me into the artist I am today. And while the road ahead won’t always be easy, I know that as long as I stay true to myself, I’ll find my way.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My work revolves around creating music that blends indie pop, R&B, and electronic influences while staying deeply personal. I write and sing about love, growth, and self discovery, drawing from my own experiences. What I strive for in my music is authenticity. Whether it’s a song about heartbreak or finding confidence, I want people to feel something real when they listen.

What sets me apart is not just my sound, but also the way I create. One thing that makes my journey even more special is my team. It’s just me, my brother (who is my photographer), my sister (who manages me), a close friend who recently became my producer. We work together to bring my vision to life, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Everything we do — music, visuals, and performances, is built from the ground up with so much love and care.

I am most proud of how far I’ve come in such a short time. In just a year, I’ve gone from making music in my bedroom to signing with 88rising, performing at major festivals, and even selling out my first headline show. But more than the numbers or achievements, what means the most to me is hearing from people who say my music has helped them through something. That’s why I do this.

At the end of the day, I don’t just want to be another artist, I want to create a space where people feel seen, understood, and inspired. That’s what drives me to keep going.

What does success mean to you?
For me, success isn’t just about numbers, streaming milestones, or sold out shows—it’s about impact. I define success by the connections I make through my music. If even one person listens to my song and feels understood, less alone, or inspired, that’s success to me.

It’s also about growth. I want to keep evolving, both as an artist and as a person. Every time I push my creative boundaries, try something new, or overcome a challenge, I see that as a win.

Success is also being able to do what I love with the people I love. My team is small, but we’re building something special together. As long as I’m making music that resonates with people and staying true to myself, I know I’m on the right path.
