Dr. Sheila Marie Campbell

Hi Dr. Campbell, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My voyage into the realm of health and wellness has been quite the ride, filled with unexpected twists and turns that have shaped my unique approach to healing. Back in high school, I had a clear vision of a future in medicine, but life had its own plans for me.

At the age of 19, my mom’s courageous battle with cancer became a pivotal moment of reflection. The extended stays in the hospital prompted me to question the disconnection between Western medical practices and my deeply held beliefs, centered around the importance of natural elements like proper sleep, exposure to sunlight, and nourishing foods. I couldn’t shake the feeling that there had to be a more harmonious approach to healing.

The turning point came with a personal crisis—a serious car accident that triggered blackouts. Skeptical of traditional medical interventions, I reluctantly explored acupuncture at my father’s suggestion. Dr. Lynott in Long Beach, CA, introduced me to the holistic philosophy of Chinese medicine, viewing the body as a whole and intricately connected to the vast universe.

Initially resistant and solely focused on my blackouts, I soon discovered the profound impact of Chinese medicine on my overall well-being. Dr. Lynott not only addressed my symptoms but also delved into the deeper philosophical aspects of health, sparking my interest and paving the way for my own journey into Chinese Medicine.

One significant aspect of this journey involved acupuncture, addressing issues related to my menstrual cycle. Since the time I began menstruating, I endured terrible pain, leading to a diagnosis of polycystic ovarian syndrome after multiple doctors prescribed birth control and wanted to do surgery. Within six months of treatment with Dr. Lynott, I experienced a transformative healing journey—regular cycles, pain-free periods, and a newfound connection with myself, emotions, and the universal energies that shape our existence.

Driven by my personal healing experience, I pursued acupuncture as a profession, eventually earning my Doctorate. Moving to Los Angeles posed financial challenges, with a mere $500 to my name and rent due. Undeterred, I offered my skills and services to anyone who needed them, from organizing spaces to childcare. I committed to treating clients at affordable rates, forging lasting connections that became the bedrock of my flourishing practice.

In the diversity of Los Angeles, I discovered the profound influence of personal energy and intention. I truly believe that this city possesses the power to help us manifest our dreams or confront our fears. Today, I proudly manage two businesses, offering holistic healing and online classes in: Cleansing Rituals, Break-up in A Box, Sacred Sexuality, Sexual Healing, Egyptian Technology, Cord Cutting and Mystic Study a year-long journey into the Mystic Arts.

My journey from crisis was one of my most profound lessons, a transformative odyssey that reshaped the very fabric of my existence. I deeply cherish the path I chose, and I owe my current state of fulfillment to the universe’s gift of a spiritual 2×4 that nudged me toward the profound healing practices I now embrace. Without that intervention, I wouldn’t be standing here, living a life aligned with my purpose and passions.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has been far from smooth, and reflecting on the struggles brings a heartfelt chuckle. Being an entrepreneur and successful business owner, for me, is about finding comfort in the struggle, even befriending it. It’s about facing the shadows within myself and my own story, persisting, and continually creating my dream against all odds. I firmly believe that visions are not bestowed upon us without purpose.

One of my earliest struggles was mastering the art of becoming my own best friend. Taming the tumultuous thoughts in my mind and achieving a state of calmness became a monumental task. I conquered my own mental hurdles through mindfulness practices, various therapeutic approaches, and Kundalini yoga routines. Overcoming these internal battles allowed me to navigate personal hardships and traumas while simultaneously running a business.

A valuable mentor introduced me to a technique that involved visualizing different hats—each representing a distinct role in my life. When “Dr. Sheila” is at work, there are specific expectations for her energy and presence. Conversely, when I’m with my nieces and nephews as “LaLa,” a different set of expectations and energies comes into play. This practice helps me compartmentalize and ensure I am present in each aspect of my life without carrying undue stress.

Legal battles became another formidable challenge, involving betrayals from those I believed had my back. These betrayals spanned various facets of life and were unimaginable to most people. However, each struggle, betrayal, and hardship has contributed to my mastery of my craft. Concentration and staying focused amid chaos have become second nature, and I view these challenges as tests from the universe before receiving more.

The legal battle, in particular, provided a masterclass in law, legalities, email writing, organization, understanding agreements, and overall business structure. I’ve integrated these hard-earned lessons into the core of my business operations. Every struggle, no matter how arduous, has shaped me into a more graceful, softer, and more aligned individual with the universe. For each hardship, I am genuinely thankful, as they have been stepping stones towards my continued growth and success.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My professional journey revolves around a deep passion for understanding the human body from diverse perspectives. To me, each body is a canvas, and life stories are intricate works of art. Within this bodily shell lies a rich tapestry of channels, meridians, muscle layers, blood, and body fluids—each holding a profound history. This history spans our lineage, experiences, loves, and betrayals. The body, in essence, becomes the record of the soul’s journey, and my love lies in deciphering, appreciating, and designing treatments tailored to each individual.

What sets me apart is my commitment to approaching people with a beginner’s mind, always seeking the highest vision for each individual I encounter. I aim to assist them in becoming more sovereign, aligned, authentic, and connected. Bridging both Western and Eastern medicine, I explore the interconnectivity to help individuals maximize their mind, body, and energy.

In collaboration with my business partner Talia, we introduced the first Luxury line of acupressure jewelry, a creative fusion of healing and fashion. This venture emerged from our shared vision to create something beautiful that stimulates acupuncture points. It embodies my dedication to healing and Talia’s flair for fashion and design.

Additionally, I developed NuCHI, a holistic platform offering online courses that bridge ancient wisdom with modern science. This endeavor reflects my commitment to sharing knowledge and empowering individuals to embrace holistic well-being. As I continue on this professional journey, I find fulfillment in helping others unlock the secrets within their bodies, fostering a harmonious balance between ancient practices and contemporary understanding.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was quite a handful, according to my parents. From an early age, my stubborn and strong-willed nature was evident. Even before I could talk, I adamantly rejected baby food, opting instead to scream and point at regular human food. My determination didn’t stop there—I vehemently refused to sleep in my crib. Every night, my parents would find me in various places around the house, as I would somehow manage to hurl myself out of the crib. Eventually, they gave in and left the crib down, allowing me to roam the house freely.

As I entered my older years, my interest in social dynamics and studying both the body and people became apparent. I engaged in numerous sports and remained highly active, always seeking new challenges and avenues for exploration. My early years were marked by a combination of strong independence, curiosity, and an insatiable drive to understand both myself and the world around me.
