Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Bernal
Hi Diana, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in both Chicago and Puerto Rico, so I faced culture clashes and adversity early on. Watching TV shows like Dallas and Dynasty, I knew I wanted to work in a downtown office. I worked full time, finished college at night, and achieved numerous “firsts”: the first in my family to graduate from high school, attend college, and earn multiple six-figures in the corporate world. Along the way I often broke barriers as a company’s first female Vice President or the first Hispanic member of the senior leadership team—in some cases, both. This propelled me to focus this stage of my career on sharing the roadmap for success I wish I had early on—the inside track on how to succeed in corporate America.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Smooth, you say? Not by any means! But we learn from every misstep. It took me six years to finish college, working full time during the day and finishing at night. I was promoted early on without the tools to supervise, so I got coaching fast to bring me up to speed.

As a Career Strategist, I help clients transform their careers, their lives, and their wealth. Ranging from those who want a promotion with the salary they deserve, or a major career change and don’t know where to start, I help relieve the stress of job search by teaching my proven framework for career success. I am proud of my work hosting the podcast Corner Office Latinas, providing community and support, and helping lots of first generation professionals learn the keys for getting ahead.

I still text or have lunch with all my old bosses–they know who they are!
