Today we’d like to introduce you to Deb Drummond.
Deb, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My entrepreneurial journey began early — I launched my first company in my twenties and have continued building ever since. Over the years, I’ve founded and led multiple ventures across diverse industries, from music and entertainment to pioneering work in the holistic health space. Each chapter taught me something new about creativity, business growth, and what it means to build platforms that truly amplify people’s voices.
A number of years ago, I transitioned intentionally into the world of media, where my passion for storytelling and impact-driven leadership aligned. Today, I am the founder and owner of Mission Accepted Media, an accessible, full-service media house. Our ecosystem spans podcasts, print, books and anthologies, book launches, press support, stages, summits, and even television interviews.
I also founded The Women’s Channel, a mission-driven platform dedicated to elevating entrepreneurs, creatives, and self-funded leaders who are building their influence through media. In addition to providing high-visibility platforms, we offer a comprehensive educational center with courses and trainings that teach not only what to do, but how to do it in a way that creates meaningful growth and the highest ROI.
My work today is the culmination of decades of entrepreneurial experience — all grounded in amplifying powerful stories, creating accessible media opportunities, and equipping leaders to be seen, heard, and deeply supported as they grow.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It would be difficult for any self-funded entrepreneur — especially one who has been in this world as long as I have — to say the road has been smooth. Entrepreneurship has been my life’s work, and “smooth” simply isn’t part of the agreement we make when we choose this path.
Over the years, I’ve experienced the full spectrum: unexpected challenges, financial risks, reinvention cycles, and those moments where you have to rebuild, rethink, or rise again. But I’ve also learned that these moments aren’t signs that something is wrong — they’re indicators that you’re in the stretch required for significance.
The entrepreneurs who make it through — and grow through — this journey come to understand that struggle, challenge, and constant evolution aren’t obstacles to avoid, but essential elements of becoming who you’re meant to be as a leader. That perspective has shaped my entire career.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My work today sits at the intersection of entrepreneurship, media, and mission-driven leadership. Through Mission Accepted Media and The Women’s Channel, I specialize in creating accessible, high-impact media platforms that help entrepreneurs, creatives, and self-funded leaders amplify their voices and grow their businesses. Our offerings span podcasting, print, book publishing and anthologies, book launches, press, speaking stages, summits, and television interviews — along with a full educational center where entrepreneurs learn both the strategy and the execution behind media that generates real ROI.
What I’m most proud of comes down to two core things: my entrepreneurial journey and the legacy I’ve built through impact.
First, entrepreneurship was never about accolades for me. I became a self-funded entrepreneur decades ago out of necessity — to create a flexible, financially stable life for my family as a new mother. What I didn’t expect was the level of recognition that would follow. I am deeply proud to have been featured in Success Magazine more than forty times for top performance, acquisition, and growth, as well as the many awards and nominations I’ve received over the years. Not because I chase them, but because they reflect a lifetime of showing up fully, following through, and doing the work with integrity.
One award that means the most to me is my Stevie Award for Women Helping Women, an international recognition that felt like being seen for the true essence of my life’s work. Supporting women and elevating their stories has been a throughline in my career since my twenties.
Second, I am profoundly proud of the legacy I’ve built within my own family. I came from a “not-have” environment, and I made a decision early on to break generational patterns and create new opportunities for my children. I maintained my entrepreneurial path while raising two kids, both of whom grew up working alongside me. My youngest son has now launched his own fashion and art business, and being able to mentor him as both a mother and a fellow entrepreneur has been one of the greatest honors of my life.
Finally, I’m incredibly proud of the impact our current media work is having on entrepreneurs around the world. Our signature project — originally known as the 262 Project and now the Stand Out, Speak Up, Show Up (S.U.S.U.) Project — has, in just over two years, supported more than 1,000 women speakers and authors. We have become the largest International Women’s Day speakership and authorship platform in the world, helping women step into their visibility, share their stories, and reclaim the significance of a global day created for them.
What sets me apart is a combination of longevity, mission, and unwavering follow-through. I build platforms that not only elevate entrepreneurs — but also teach them how to use media strategically, sustainably, and in a way that truly moves their businesses forward. Every recognition I’ve received, every company I’ve built, and every voice we’ve amplified reflects that deeper commitment.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
This question actually made me laugh because anyone who knew me growing up would agree on the same two words: spunky and adventurous. I had a bold, risk-taking, outspoken streak from a very young age — the kind of child who was always exploring, trying new things, and fearlessly pushing the edges. That energy has never really left me.
At the same time, there was another side of me that was deeply creative, artistic, and expressive. I loved crafting, drawing, painting, singing country music, baking, and cooking elaborate meals without ever using a recipe. Music was (and still is) a huge part of my life — I played guitar, ukulele, organ, sang in choirs, and collected artwork and posters that covered my walls.
I’ve always been fascinated with beauty, design, and expression — from architecture to fashion to natural fragrance. That passion eventually turned into two early companies: an aromatherapy home-party business where I formulated over 300 natural products and taught perfumery, and a gemstone jewelry company where I curated and designed one-of-a-kind pieces from stones sourced around the world. Turning raw materials from the earth into wearable art was something truly special.
And, throughout all of it, the ocean has been my sanctuary. I’ve always been drawn to water — swimming, dancing, moving — anything that let me feel free, creative, and connected.
Looking back, my childhood was a mix of fearless adventure and deep creativity, and those two threads continue to shape who I am and the work I do today.
