Check Out Daniel Pacheco’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Pacheco.

Hi Daniel, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My career began in New York City where I worked in business development and sales for various start-up and technology companies in the video and production space. In 2019 I joined the video agency, Hayden5, as the Director of Business Development. We service brands and agencies ranging from Salesforce and Edelman to Apple Music and Kidz Bop. After working out of the New York HQ for two years, I had the privilege of helping launch our West Coast office here in Venice, California. We figured since half of our business came from companies with a West Coast presence, we were positioned to grow and better serve our client base with a solid presence in LA. We started out here with three employees, but soon landed a beautiful office/clubhouse on Abbot Kinney and quickly grew our West Coast staff to fifteen people. It’s been a whirlwind two years, but now that the dust has settled, it’s amazing to think about where my life is at now. I live and work in Venice and have the rare luxury of a walking commute in Los Angeles. If I want to, I can go for a quick surf before or walk over to the boardwalk to catch the sunset when my day has wrapped. Also, it’s just great to take in the creative energy of the neighborhood in general. At times, I miss the hustle and bustle of NYC, but I’m pretty happy with the trade-off of sun, surf, and good Mexican food.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Moving across the country during a pandemic posed a unique challenge. People were still cautious about meeting in person, and many businesses remained closed or operated at limited capacity. Fortunately for Hayden5, our business was thriving, having created “Drop Kits™,” a contactless workflow for high-quality remote production that kept the cameras rolling during stay-at-home orders. The demand during the pandemic kept us busy, grew our client base, and allowed us to increase our staff to meet the demand. By 2022, and without really missing a beat, we were back on set, shooting over 100 traditional productions a month and servicing over 200 clients across the country and the world.

With my work life thriving, I was able to maintain a meaningful and productive schedule that gave me a stable base to explore LA in my free time.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My day-to-day is focused on fostering new relationships and clients for Hayden5. I manage our sales strategy and collaborate very closely with our account management team to better serve our clients.

Since I’ve been in LA, I’ve traveled up and down the coastline for work, visiting clients like Sony PlayStation in San Diego, Meta and Salesforce in San Francisco, and Amazon in Seattle to name a few. LA has been such a rich environment to connect in-person media and entertainment professionals as well. This is such a vast market rife with opportunities for collaborations and partnerships. I definitely see myself staying out here for the long haul.
