Today we’d like to introduce you to Christiana Davis
Hi Christiana, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m Christiana Davis, a middle grade educator and curriculum specialist with a passion for fostering a love of learning in my students. My journey in education has been incredibly rewarding, and I focus on creating engaging and inclusive curriculum materials that meet the diverse needs of young learners.
In addition to teaching, I’m also an author. I enjoy crafting stories that inspire and resonate with middle grade readers, encouraging them to explore their imaginations and discover new worlds.
As a worship leader, I find joy in guiding others in their Christian growth and fostering a sense of community. Through my various roles, I aim to empower both students and communities, nurturing their minds and spirits in every way I can.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey has not always been a smooth one. There have been challenges along the way, both personally and professionally. One of the biggest struggles has been finding balance—trying to maintain the energy and passion for teaching while managing the demands of my personal life.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a teacher, author, worship leader, and one-third of a family business called One of a Kind Hats. My work spans across education, the arts, and entrepreneurship. In teaching, I specialize in literacy education, particularly within Black communities, where I’m deeply committed to making a difference. I’m passionate about helping students develop their reading and writing skills, as I believe literacy is a key to unlocking so many doors of opportunity.
In worship arts, I’m known for bringing a modern sound to traditional worship music. I recently released a cover of “Indescribable” with Anchored Music, which has received over 70,000 views on YouTube—a milestone I’m particularly proud of.
What sets me apart is this unique blend of education, worship leadership, and entrepreneurship. Whether I’m uplifting students, leading worship, or helping craft unique designs through One of a Kind Hats, I’m driven by a desire to inspire others. It’s this combination of literacy advocacy, creative worship, and a family-run business that truly defines my work.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
From a faith perspective, what matters most to me is knowing that I’m doing God’s work. Every day, I strive to live out my calling by serving others, whether it’s through teaching, writing, or leading worship. It’s a blessing to be in a position where I can inspire students and adults, helping them discover their potential and purpose, and also touch people’s hearts through worship.
