Check Out Chris Farmer’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Farmer.

Chris Farmer

Hi Chris, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Multi-instrumentalist and vocalist. Became a professional musician in 1975 at age 15 in Detroit, MI. Moved to the Valley in 1980. Started playing with lots of West Coast pop groups like The Beach Boys, Jan & Dean, members of the Eagles, and many other 60’s and 70’s rock headliners – The Turtles, Gary Lewis & The Playboys, Motown/R&B artists Martha Reeves, David Ruffin, Coasters, Drifters, Crests, Dixie Cups, Little Anthony, etc.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Career ups and downs are not too bad, considering the cyclical nature, ebb and flow, and unstable income aspects of the biz. Must wear several hats and have multiple streams to make it a full-time venture.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Known for: My own musical services company, providing live acts for corporate events and public shows performing classic rock hits from The Beach Boys/Surf/’60s, Eagles/’70s, Jimmy Buffett/Caribbean/Reggae, Eric Clapton/Creme/British Invasion, etc.. at: Chrisfarmermusic.com

Sets me apart: I hire mostly performers and have toured or are currently touring with original artists.

Most proud: High-quality performances by my groups.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Be professional, pleasant, and cheerful when speaking with clients, co-workers, and staff. That communication approach goes a long way.
