Today, we’d like to introduce you to Bianca Singer.
Hi Bianca, can you introduce yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I grew up with a love for music at a very young age. My dad loved jazz and would constantly play his jazz records in the house. This began my spark for the arts however, my love for acting and storytelling didn’t come along until much later. My first acting class was in 8th grade, which is where I fell in love with the idea of telling a story and portraying someone who wasn’t my every day self.
As I continued doing theater and music in high school, I eventually had to choose and say, “Well, what do I want to do in college?” Music gave me an incredible amount of discipline and leadership, but my heart was in theater and acting. I attended AMDA College and Conservatory and received my BFA in Music Theatre. Once I had graduated, my goal was to have a career in musical theater. However, I realized there was not a lot of diversity and not a lot of roles where directors (at the time) wanted to have a diverse cast. This is what charged me to get into Film and Television.
There were so many diverse stories and actors in the film industry compared to the theater industry. Once I found my path, I got representation, started auditioning, and then covid hit. During the lockdown, all I wanted to do was perform, act, write, sing, and do anything related to the arts, which led me to TikTok and write my own material.
I debuted my first solo Cabaret at The Hollywood Fringe Festival in 2022 and became the “Ya Tu Sabes” Monologue Slam Writer Winner presented by NBC in 2022. Now, I am writing scripts and sketches and collaborating with great artists who have a passion for writing and producing their own content!
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I believe there always has to be some sort of struggle or bump in the road, not every journey is perfect. I learned a lot of wonderful lessons and a lot of hard personal ones. It all depends on your attitude and how you proceed next.
I have to always remind myself “Trust in the Process” and remember “Where you are today, is where you would have killed to be just a few years ago.” It’s all about putting things in perspective and having a close net group of people to keep you accountable.
Not even just in your career but also your life and core values. So, in short it hasn’t been a smooth road and the road is still going but I’m excited to see what bumps are ahead!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am most known as ‘Miss B’ on TikTok. I create videos that help young, inspiring actors and help promote open casting calls in order to spread more opportunities. After winning the “Ya Tu Sabes” Monologue Slam presented by NBC, I have been writing scripts, sketches, and cabarets.
I found a real love for writing original content and being able to produce and perform it. That’s where my real focus has been, and I’m proud. Writing is not always easy; it’s definitely a skill you have to exercise often, and the editing process is always tedious.
However, what I have been writing has made me very excited to share!
We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Can you share something that might surprise us?
A lot of people are really surprised to find out I really love Baseball. It’s something so simple and not related to the arts at all, which leaves people stunned.
Some say that they could not imagine seeing me play a sport or be active which I think is hilarious because I love being physical and I love moving. I love going to the batting cages, playing softball, and watching Baseball games with friends.
I was also a Kickboxing trainer for a few years, which I really loved, and my current manager was shocked when I told him.
