Check Out BB Blue’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to BB Blue.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
We’re bb blue, a Los Angeles-based pop duo. We met in 2017 by fate on the internet and after being friends for a few years, we decided to join forces. We made our debut in November 2021 with our single “dead & gone” which got us a following started and we’ve continued to release an eclectic set of singles which have been a diverse representation of all our biggest influences in pop. We took advantage of the lockdown and put ourselves through an intensive two years long writing/production bootcamp. We wrote close to 300 songs and started putting them out right away. Our goal is to keep creating music that connects with people on a deep level and blurs the lines of genres in a nostalgic yet futuristic way.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely isn’t easy being an independent artist in the current state of the music industry. Trying to stand out among the tens of thousands of tracks uploaded daily is an enormous challenge. Not to mention putting all of our own money into bb blue as well as pulling long nights and running on empty and still pushing ourselves. Also, it’s impossible to make it alone and the pandemic presented many challenges when it came to collaborating on connecting with others.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We make pop music and there’s so much more to come. Our favorite tracks have yet to be heard and we’re so excited to release them to the world. Pop is such an oversaturated genre right now, but we feel very proud to hear many people tell us our music has its own sound while still feeling nostalgic and relatable. We try to cover topics that we feel connect with the human experience on a profound level.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I think pursuing music is always a risk especially coming from families where many people doubt the stability of chasing a dream. We have put everything on the line for our music so it is always a risk until it isn’t. But it’s definitely one worth taking.
