I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
In April 2020, I lost my grandfather (my mother’s father) to health issues. In July 2020, my mother went into cardiac arrest in post-recovery from a hyperactive thyroid removal surgery. My mother was in a coma at age 49 until transitioned in November of 2020. My grandmother, my mother’s mom, Transitioned in November 2022 from a heart attack.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a multifaceted artist with a diverse background in singing, acting, and dance. With over 25 years of experience, I’ve honed my skills in various disciplines, including ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, and African dance. As a professional singer since the age of 5, I’ve lent my voice to numerous projects, and as an actor, I’ve appeared in notable shows like “Insecure” and “Rap Shit.” My podcast, “Love Is… Podcast,” allows me to explore and share insights on love and relationships. I take pride in my ability to seamlessly blend my talents across different mediums, creating unique and memorable performances. What sets me apart is my dedication to mastering multiple artistic forms and my passion for storytelling through music, acting, and dance.
Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Moving to Los Angeles in 2012 was definitely a major risk for me. I left behind familiarity and security to pursue a dream in a city where I knew no one. It was a leap of faith, driven by my passion and determination to succeed. While some may view me as a risk-taker for making such a move, I see it as a calculated risk, one that I was willing to take to chase my dreams. For me, risk-taking is about weighing the potential rewards against the potential consequences and being willing to step out of your comfort zone to pursue what truly matters to you. It’s about embracing uncertainty and believing in yourself enough to take that leap.
