Today we’d like to introduce you to Ayesha Sultan
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
It all started one night when I got my period and got really mad that we still don’t have period leaves yet?!
I had always been thinking of starting my own digital agency and use my creativity to help other brands, and also fulfill myself creatively, spiritually and emotionally, so I just made an Instagram account.
And that’s how it started, I poured out of my repressed reservoirs of creativity and it just hasn’t stopped. I found myself visiting so many different cities, super grateful for my remote business because it lets me travel
It allowed me to build a life that is aligned to my hormonal cycle and now I can be as proactive or as restful as I need to be according to my feminine needs.
My brand is very tiny right now but I plan on making it grow further and further
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There’s a big giant monster called THE IMPOSTER SYNDROME. So I don’t even know if I can explain it, but there are moments when I think to myself; why did I quit my 9-5 job and decide to pursue my own business? I was living so comfortably, but I know I wasn’t happy. As a creative person there is an inherent need to express and I need that release, as some people need the gym or even sex haha.
Grounding myself is the lesson I learned. Theres going to be lots of people that will try and bring you down by challenging the meaning and purpose behind it, but I know my purpose. I do this because I want to help people and because I want to be in my feminine energy and work in tune with my cycle and my body.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I run a digital agency, called Aatish Design Studio. We specialize in email marketing, branding consultations and brand strategy.
I also am a trained dancer (from pakistan in Kathak), a model, an architect by degree, an artist and basically a very creative person. What sets me apart is the fact that I can do so many things, and I can do them well, I never get bored.
I am the most proud of quitting my corporate job and being able to travel, it’s the best thing that I could’ve done for myself
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was an extremely overconfident kid growing up, I loved theatre, dancing and art. I was good at school but I grew up quite poor so we couldn’t afford good education. I grew up in Pakistan, born and raised and it was really hard for me to deal with the sexism there. Dancing was an act of rebellion there, that shaped alot of my personality in my early years and ignited that fire in me to change my life and my story.
My studio’s name is Aatish= which means fire in urdu (my second language)
