Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Gentile.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have a true passion for storytelling with a speciality in visuals and sound design. My history in production and post stem directly from sports, starting out creating content for athletic departments such as UCLA and the University of Florida. From there, I extended into the commercial realm, where my editorial career expanded, working with A-list directors, talent and clients such as Nike, Mercedes, MasterClass, US Navy, McDonalds, Nintendo and many more. I’ve recently become an awarded documentarian, telling stories that not only inspire people but foster community.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It most definitely has not been a smooth road along the way, there were so many ups and downs and still are. When I look back on some of the things I went through, one of the challenges was moving to a new city without knowing anyone. You really have to trust your instincts and be yourself, even when people disagree with you, that’s ok. Another challenge I found was that I couldn’t just skate by, I had to put in the work. Actually not knowing many people in a new city gave me the time to pull my sleeves up and learn the skills I wanted.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I work as a creative producer and editor specializing in visual storytelling and sound design. I am most proud of my real people, real story projects as I hope they inspire others. What sets me apart in my work is my personal perspective on things. I’m an optimist and love to explore all possibilities within any project. Also, the collaboration process is one of my favorites and I aspire to engage others through my skills
What makes you happy?
What makes me Happy? I find happiness in a lot of different places, my family, my career, photography and music. My family makes me happy because of the unconditional love we have and support in times of good and bad. My career makes me happy because it fills the creative itch I need scratched. I also find happiness in my hobbies like photography, which keeps me in the moment and music, which helps set my rhythm throughout the day.
