Check Out Anna Woods’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Woods

Hi Anna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my company in 2022, at the age of 21, I was lucky enough to have saved up from my previous modeling gigs to launch my clothing brand VIXEN LA. Only a little over a year in business the brand has launched 3 collections, and debuted in LA Fashion week.

What led me to launch VIXEN LA can be attributed to being constantly surrounded by beauty, and my mothers fashion growing up. Graduating FIDM with a degree in fashion design, I recognized that a 9-5 was not destined for me; I decided to work full time on the business.

VIXEN LA was inspired by icons and celebrities. I recall looking at Vogue magazines growing up, having a desire to dress up the way supermodels and celebs were photographed. I created VIXEN LA so that our clientele can afford and feel like the main character they are in the designs. VIXEN LA wants to celebrate every woman in their individuality, and works to provide the experience of sophistication with a touch of provocativeness through versatile designs that are adaptable from day to night. VIXEN LA was created for iconic women who own their femininity.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Having any business, will always be a rollercoaster with many curve balls thrown at you. The biggest lesson I learned is that resilience is crucial for long term success. One of the struggles that devastated me most, was last year on my Birthday I woke up to VIXEN LAs’ Instagram page being permanently deleted. All the customers, connections, brand tags, influencer collaborations, and followers were gone. I couldn’t do anything to restore it. I felt broken down. As an online business your storefront is your social media pages. I took this as a sign to take a mini social media break to reflect on what it was that I wanted for the brand. After analyzing the whole matter, I made a note that I had a blank canvas to work with. I used this opportunity to make the Instagram page better and more aesthetic with all the knowledge I had developed over the year. Its success is a work in progress but the results are already there!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the founder of VIXEN LA a womenswear clothing brand, conceptualizing glamorous contemporary designs. I am known for breaking barriers between elegant, sensual, and provocative clothing pieces. VIXEN LA is a one women show as of now, I do creative directing, castings, in house tasks, as well as managing our social media outlets. However VIXEN LA wouldn’t be where it is now without the amazing artists, models, and photographers we’ve worked with. I am most proud of our VIXEN LA Summer Gifting Suite Event, which involved multiple local businesses, with many female content creators in attendee. VIXEN LA wants to continue creating community spaces where fashion minded people can connect. What sets me apart from others I would say is my passion for sharing and uplifting other female creators. There is no such thing as gate keeping in my mind. I enjoy helping in any way if it means we can all be successful in a city with so many opportunities.

What does success mean to you?
Success in my world is defined by three key elements. The endeavor must bring me satisfaction and happiness. Second, my work must positively impact the lives of others and contribute to the community. At last, my pursuit must ignite my passion, driving me to continuously move forward and achieve new aspirations.
