Check Out Anna Thatsanaphonh’s Story

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Anna Thatsanaphonh again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

Anna, we are so thrilled to be connecting again and can’t wait to hear about all the amazing things you have been up to. Before we jump into all of that, some of our readers might have missed our prior interview, so can you take a moment to reintroduce yourself?
I’m Anna, a private chef with years of experience in the restaurant industry. During the pandemic, I decided to take a leap and launch my own private chef services, bringing unique dining experiences directly to my clients’ tables.

My passion lies in curating tasting menus inspired by Lao and Southeast Asian flavors, blending the rich traditions of my heritage with a modern twist. Every dish I create is a reflection of my journey, designed to celebrate bold flavors and thoughtful presentation while telling a story through food.

Whether it’s an intimate dinner, a pop-up, or a private event, my goal is to craft personalized, unforgettable experiences that connect people through the beauty and depth of Southeast Asian cuisine.

Alright, so our main goal today is to give our audience an update on what you have been up to since our last conversation. We’d love to hear how things are going and what you are most looking forward to or excited about these days.
Since launching my private chef business during the pandemic, I’ve been fortunate to build a growing clientele across Southern California. I’ve worked on everything from intimate dinners to large-scale special events and pop-ups, and it’s been an incredible ride.

The journey has been filled with so many memorable moments—both the good and the challenging. There have been ups and downs, but every experience has been a chance to grow and refine what I do. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to share my passion for curating Lao and Southeast Asian-inspired tasting menus with a modern twist, and I love connecting with so many amazing people through food.

This work has been as rewarding as it is challenging, and I can’t wait to see where it takes me next.

Alright, so let’s do something a bit more fast-paced and lighthearted. We call this our lightning round and we’ll ask you a few quick questions.

As a private chef, I am deeply proud to share the rich culture and heritage of Laos with those who may not yet know it. Lao cuisine often finds itself overshadowed or hidden behind Thai menus, but it is vibrant, unique, and deserving of its own spotlight. My mission is to create a space where Lao food can truly shine, connecting people to its authentic flavors and stories while celebrating the beauty of my homeland
