Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Marie Dobbins
Hi Anna Marie , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m an actress and co-owner of Offero Collection, a line of elegant, theft-deterrent handbags. The idea came to me and my mother during one of our mother-daughter trips in Europe, when we realized there was a need for stylish handbags with discreet theft-deterrent features that didn’t sacrifice luxury or elegance. That’s how Offero Collection was born. As an actress constantly traveling from city to city for filming, I also wanted a collection I could carry with me every day. We launched Offero in 2017 and are now on our second line, featuring crossbody handbags and wallets.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting a company is rarely a smooth journey, and we definitely faced our share of challenges. One significant hurdle involved the slash-proof lining in our bags. Our manufacturer struggled to cut the tough material, so we had to outsource high-powered machines until we found one capable of shaping the bags. This process, however, reassured us that our handbags were truly durable—if it takes such powerful machines to cut them, they’re definitely secure! We also faced difficulties during COVID when our manufacturers shut down, making it tough to keep production going.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
In addition to co-founding Offero, I’m also an actress with over 30 feature films and television shows under my belt. My acting journey began at 13 in my hometown of Birmingham, Alabama, and after college, I made the leap to Los Angeles. Acting has always been one of my greatest passions—I love bringing stories to life on the big screen.
What are your plans for the future?
Like many, I’m a bit of a workaholic. I love exploring new opportunities and challenging myself beyond my comfort zone. I recently finished producing a documentary and am currently in pre-production for a feature film I co-wrote, which is set to begin filming in early 2025.
