Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela von Detten.
Hi Angela, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started out as a full-time assistant for two wonderful agents in Beverly Hills. I learned so much from the ground up while working with them and then moved to Taiwan for a moment to immerse myself in culture and language – since at the time, many buyers spoke Mandarin, which I speak. After returning to the States, I did real estate in the Inland Empire for a little bit and decided to come back to the Westside. Since returning, I’ve been on my own and built a small team including an assistant and a buyers agent. Now contemplating what’s my next move!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I’m naturally an optimist so I believe it will all work out in the end. That’s not to say there wasn’t a ton of hard work and sacrifice involved in getting to where I am today. When I started real estate, I was young…and in real estate, you work weekends – so while my friends were getting brunch, I made the hard and right decisions to host open houses every weekend to build my network. I attended networking events to meet people in the evening and after many years of putting in the work, I’m thankful for the opportunities that have come my way.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I sell residential real estate, specializing from first-time homebuyers to luxury homes. I’m most proud that all my clients understand and feel good with the home buying or selling process. There’s a lot of information that Google spits out and confuses people, and I’m really good at helping to explain to clients why and how we do things. Every sale is special in its own way and understanding how to finesse it is what sets me apart from others.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I believe I naturally have good luck in life – and it’s shown in my personal life and business. If you possess good energy, generally most of the time, it will happen. Believe it!
