Check Out Angel Phoenix’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angel Phoenix.

Hi Angel, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m a long-time content creator turned entrepreneur & attention economist.

I’m originally from Montreal but am now living my best life in Bali, Indonesia, traveling to LA often for work.

I’ve been building communities, curating immersive learning experiences and developing products across a variety of industries for the last decade.

When it comes to creating, branding and marketing – I am an absolute sucker for eclectic conceptual design, maximalism, novelty, nostalgia, gamification, feminism, futurism and weird people being brave enough to do weird things.

In late 2021, I created the boutique online learning resource that is Social Media Slay, along with its sister product Social Media Slay: Safe – a group of mega dynamic teachings around social media, digital marketing, creative content creation and tech for adults + teens alike.

My agency works with a range of top-shelf clients and humans whom I oversee as creative director, digital strategist and builder of bodacious social media ecosystems that leverage influence & impact.

You can also catch me on PornHub’s S*xual Wellness Centre as one of their expert contributors. I also run an online s*x education forum called, ‘The Hoochie Mama’ for women exploring & healing their s*xuality in the perinatal and postpartum period.

If you look up the word multipotentialite in the dictionary, a big fat photo of my face can be found sitting pretty under the definition; ‘maniac with many passions who has figured out a way to do everything she loves in one lifetime.’

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I don’t trust any creative entrepreneur who tells you it’s been a smooth ride. It’s the rollercoaster that makes it that much funner! And it’s the challenges that build any kind of character worth making legends of.

Both my life and career are decorated with metaphorical episodes of explosive diarrhea. I owe these sh*t shows every bit of brilliance I’ve birthed in between bathroom breaks.

Like many others, I lost everything during the pandemic. I went from my first 7 figure turnaround to living homeless in vans, campsites and tiny Airbnb with my two young children for 19 months. Miscarriages, illness, loss of a parent and so much more has happened in the last few years alone – and I am convinced the more aggressive the storm we weather, the more success we come to treasure.

So here we are, and now I smile when it rains.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Futurism, feminism and business anarchy just about sum up what differentiates my loudmouth approach from the classic status quo approach when it comes to recognizing women in business. Asides from this, I will make it a point to state that philanthropy drives so much of what I do. I have built a mother & baby clinic in Ethiopia, continue giving to a midwife scholarship for women of colour and opened an animal rescue in Bali (which I also manage and run full time). This desire to be in service and circulate back to the community is a major driver behind my ambitions. I’m a hell of a businesswoman but I take pride in what kind of human I am.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Do not be afraid to f*ck up. Don’t trust people who claim to have their sh*t together. Trust that failing is sometimes precisely the thing you do to fall forward. Find people you can make mistakes around – it will be so much sweeter to share your success if you do.
