Today we’re excited to be connecting with Angel Amor again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Angel, we are so thrilled to be connecting again and can’t wait to hear about all the amazing things you have been up to. Before we jump into all of that, some of our readers might have missed our prior interview, so can you take a moment to reintroduce yourself?
Thank you! I’m excited to reconnect. For those who may not know me, I’m the founder of Bossy Bundts and the Sugarcoated Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth through creativity, leadership, and entrepreneurship. My journey started with a passion for baking, which I turned into a thriving business—going from a home kitchen to a retail storefront. But beyond the cakes, I’ve always been about impact.
What sets me apart is my ability to merge business, community, and empowerment. Through Bossy Bundts, I create desserts that bring joy, while with the Sugarcoated Foundation, I provide workshops in baking, entrepreneurship, and wellness for youth, especially in underserved communities. My path hasn’t been linear—I’ve navigated corporate leadership, entrepreneurship, and personal challenges, but resilience and vision have carried me forward.
Highlights? Taking Bossy Bundts from a small idea to a storefront, launching my nonprofit, and building initiatives that truly give back. Every step of the way, I’ve stayed true to my mission: turning passion into purpose and using my skills to uplift others.
Alright, so our main goal today is to give our audience an update on what you have been up to since our last conversation. We’d love to hear how things are going and what you are most looking forward to or excited about these days.
A lot has happened since we last connected! One of the biggest shifts in my life was my daughter Nahla’s type 1 diabetes diagnosis, which completely changed how I move through the world. Managing her care has been a full-time job in itself, but it also deepened my understanding of resilience, advocacy, and the importance of community support.
During this time, I also officially launched the Sugarcoated Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth through creativity, leadership, and entrepreneurship. It’s been incredible to see the vision come to life—offering workshops in baking, wellness, and business, and creating spaces where young people can thrive. But to keep these programs going, we truly need the bakery to be successful.
Bossy Bundts is more than just a bakery—it’s the heartbeat of everything I do. But like many small businesses, we’ve faced our share of challenges, and right now, we need people to show up and support. Every purchase helps us continue our mission, and I’d love to see more people come out, grab some bundts, and be a part of this journey.
Despite the ups and downs, I’m excited about what’s ahead—expanding the foundation’s reach, growing the bakery, and continuing to build something that leaves a lasting impact. This journey has been anything but predictable, but it’s real, it’s meaningful, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
We also want to give folks a chance to get to know you a bit better so we’ve prepared a fun lightning round of questions. Ready?

- Sweet or Savory: Sweet, of course! But a balance of both is perfection.

- Favorite Cartoon growing up: There’s too many good ones to decide! But I am currently rewatching Rugrats with my little one and she’s loving it.

What do you want people to remember about you and your brand? What are some of things that you feel are most important, unique, special, etc?
Everything I do is rooted in the belief that we all deserve to chase our dreams, embrace our creativity, and build something meaningful, no matter where we start.
What makes my brand special is that it’s deeply personal. Bossy Bundts isn’t just about cakes—it’s about resilience, passion, and creating something sweet even in life’s toughest moments. The Sugarcoated Foundation was born from that same spirit, giving young people access to opportunities, skills, and experiences they might not otherwise have.
I want people to remember that I poured my heart into this—into every bundt, every program, every event—because I truly believe in the power of community and lifting others up. Whether someone walks into my bakery or participates in one of our foundation’s workshops, I want them to leave feeling inspired, valued, and supported. That’s what matters most.
