Check Out Alisha Hall’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alisha Hall.

Hi Alisha, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I always just wanted to help people. Even looking back at all the jobs I’ve ever had, they were always customer service related in some form. Growing up, I had a passion for music and the entertainment industry. After graduating from Columbia College Chicago with an Entertainment Management degree in Music Business, I moved to Los Angeles eager to work with musicians. I landed a job at ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) where I was able to work with some of the world’s greatest musicians, composers and artists of our time. It was a ride, to say the least. After ten years, my job seemed to get further and further away from how I wanted to help, so I quit. Around year 5 of working there, I started a nonprofit called Golden Women Foundation. It started with a group of my closest girlfriends and sisters getting together for a two-day retreat, where we shared, we cried and we laughed. After it was all done, we left so empowered that we wanted to do it all again. I realized that when people get together, who are open to heal and help others, lives can change. From that one “Girls Weekend”, we started an organization that has given workshops, resources, retreats and scholarships to women all over the country. I am proudly serving as President of Golden Women Foundation and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us.

That is just half of my story. After quitting my job, focusing on GWF full-time and starting a family, I knew there was more that I could do. One day, my husband and I were talking and writing down things that we wanted our kids to know more about than we did growing up. Real Estate and Investments were at the top of our list. Neither of us knew much about either and were thinking…”Ok, where do we start?” I agreed that I would buy some books on real estate and learn what I could. Once I started my google search rabbit hole, I decided to go to a 2-hour intro to real estate class that was nearby hoping I would get some good gems and recommendations on where to start. After the class, I was convinced that if I was going to read a book about real estate, all I had to do was take class and pass it and then take the state exam and pass that, I could actually become a real estate agent. Once I committed to doing that, I was introduced to a top brokerage from a close family friend and in my first year had 2 million dollars in sales. My intention was to learn more so that I could share what I learned with my toddlers, lol but once I saw what I could do with what I learned, I knew that my kids would benefit greatly from mom being involved with real estate than just reading a book. So I named the company after my two oldest, Just Love Realty. I’m so honored to learn as much as I can for them and one day, the company can be theirs.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been a smooth road because we have taken our time with every part. Every step of the way, we thought it out and did what we could. We took advantage of help when it was offered. We made sure we did tons of research before we started a project and just took things one day and step at a time. We wanted to give scholarships and that’s what we’re doing. We are so honored to do it. I always thought running a nonprofit would be far beyond anything I could ever do but when you just have it in your heart to help people, just do that. Just help people and you will find others that will help you get the business part together. Similar to Just Love Realty, my intention was to learn and grow. As I got deeper into learning, I didn’t want to leave it there at the end of a book, I realized I could actually make money from what I learned for years to come. Did I have tough days? Absolutely! I have three kids under the age of four. Do I struggle with managing it all? Absolutely, but I do what I can and remind myself of my intention and my purpose.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Golden Women Foundation and Just Love Realty were both formed with the highest intention to give and to serve. At GWF, we currently have a scholarship every year that awards women who are attending college, trade school or taking courses for state licensure. Women apply from all over the country from students just starting their college journey to women who decided later in life to change careers. We award 4-5 women a year and it is so rewarding to give. From what I hear, there aren’t many scholarships for graduate students or women who want more out there. I personally was one of those women who decided to do something different after my college degree. I want to encourage others to not be afraid to grow and change. We should never stop doing that.

At Just Love Realty, we are just ready to serve the community with the highest standards of love and care in the real estate world. Our brokerage, Keller Williams Silicon Beach has a stellar team of industry leaders and professionals that are extraordinary in the business. I am so honored to have teammates like that. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some pretty amazing clients in luxury real estate as well. I’m just surrounded by the best of the best in every aspect of my life and I’m thankful for it every single day.

I am most proud that these two companies are family businesses. My husband, Bam Hall, has been my number one encourager, referral colleague, influencer, spokesman and my motivation is driven by the love for my family and to have the opportunity to change the trajectory of their future wealth. If I want a different life for them, I have to make things happen now and my strength is in service and giving.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I laugh at the word luck. I never use it in my vocabulary because I don’t believe in it. I believe there are things my God will allow me to do and if I want them, I can do them. There have been so many doors and relationships that have opened up for me and luck could never achieve any of that. When I think about the power of our first retreat or the prayer for my kids to know more about real estate and investments, BOOM, all the doors open, how could luck do any of that? God opens doors and can change the hearts of people to help us, luck cannot.
