Today we’d like to introduce you to Aathira Rajeev.
Hi Aathira, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I would pose for photos like my life depended on it at a very young age. Little did I know that at this point my well-being very much DOES depend on it.
My parents loved the idea of photoshoots for their little baby and arranged quite a few shots to be taken at a young age. Even at that ripe age, I would pose accurately and use props without much direction for the photographer. That clearly showed I was indeed born to do this.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the things that were a block in the runway world was my height.
It being something biological that I cannot control, I took note and soon moved most of my work to print. My inner child shined during runway shows but I was able to also fall in love with the world of print and fashion.
It’s slowly getting better in terms of height requirements (or lack of) and I’m positive within a certain period of time, the runway would open to models like me who shine bright in our “travel-size” structures.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in being a chameleon. What I mean by that is, that I happen to be able to pull off several different looks depending on the project.
One minute I’m dressed as a teenager in an adorable wardrobe and the next minute I can pull off a fully stunning ball gown. It isn’t common to find somebody whose look can be manipulated based on style, genre, etc. And I believe I have that covered.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Luck has a lot to do with projects, but it also doesn’t. I believe it’s a hand-in-hand maneuver with luck and talent.
You can have all the luck in the world but if your look doesn’t fit, or your talent doesn’t add up, that’s a project that slips away from your hand.
