Today we’d like to introduce you to Lizzie Hendrickson and Lizzy Seguin.
Hi Lizzie and Lizzy, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
The Know Wear Files was born out of our love for fashion. Pre-Covid, we were each other’s shopping buddies. It’s always helpful to have someone you know and trust to help you make smart purchases. While COVID was in full force, we were heartbroken to see small businesses and brands affected by the pandemic and wanted to help. Live shopping was brought to our attention and there was an a-ha moment for us both. Shopping virtually was just an extension of what we were already doing together. Why not help and guide those at home who are having trouble shopping online, and support small businesses at the same time?
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When starting something new, there are always some roadblocks. Live Shopping is a new social experience for everyone so sometimes it takes a bit of explaining to help either a brand/store or consumer to envision. Covid has of course been a big challenge because we aren’t able to go to as many stores as we would like for safety reasons. Any challenges that we have come across have only helped us get more clear about our vision and end goal so we are grateful for them!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Lizzie Hendrickson: I am originally from New York and I grew up on Long Island. I moved to Los Angeles in 2005 to continue my acting career. I’m best known for my work in daytime television. Currently, I play Chloe on “The Young and the Restless”. I also own my own business in Venice Beach, Ellie and Sass which is a multi-purpose salon that I started with a friend almost four years ago. I’m most proud of my ability to not get stuck in one box. I try to push myself and try new things as often as I can. If someone tells me I can’t do something, it’s almost like I have to prove they’re wrong. I definitely lead with my gut and when I see something, I want I go and get it.
Lizzy Seguin: I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. I lived in New York for ten years and then moved to Venice, CA about seven years ago. I am a Fashion Stylist and mainly work on editorials, celebrity and music videos. After every styling job I do, I’m proud of all the hard work that goes into it and seeing a vision and story come to life. But, if I had to pick one moment I think I’m most proud of working on the Taylor Swift Reputation Tour. It was really incredible to be on the wardrobe team and see our vision come to life on stage.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
I think our husbands were the first ones who said you have to do this! They knew it was something that fell in line with what we already loved doing together and had faith that we can turn it into something successful. We are very lucky that a few of our close friends have a lot of knowledge in the media /digital space, they’ve helped us getting the word out to stores and digital first brands. We are very lucky that a few of our close friends are successful and have a lot of knowledge when it comes to media, they’ve helped us with our mission statement and getting the word out to brands we want to work with. We have some fun stuff coming up and can’t wait to share it with our followers!
