Hi Kostas, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started making videos for fun as a kid, mainly about skateboarding with my friends. What started off as simply a hobby turned into a more serious passion once I got to college. I switched my major from Business to Film after realizing how much more enjoyable it was to take a class about TV and Movies rather than about math. During these years as well, my social media following grew due to being on a couple of YouTube shows. Since graduating, I have focused on continuing to build my online presence, as well as build my portfolio in both photography and film.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would not say it’s been a smooth road at all. For a very long time, I struggled with finding my purpose and figuring out what I wanted to do in life. I still don’t feel like I have it all figured out, but definitely have more clarity. I’ve gotten a lot more clarity within the past year. And then of course, this year has been a struggling for all of us, I would say given the pandemic.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am both a photographer and a filmmaker. I simply love to capture moments through the lens of my camera. I’d say I specialize in storytelling and helping people/brands bring their vision to life through my camera. I’d say the thing I am most proud of is having been able to create a life for myself where I am able to do what I love for work everyday. I’d say the thing that separates myself from others is both my storytelling and attention to detail.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I was lucky to be apart of a few shows on YouTube when I was younger that helped me build an online presence. That really started a lot of things off for me, that not everyone has the opportunity to have/experience. It has been a blessing and a curse though because for a long time, people just thought of me as an online personality rather than knowing me for my work.
