Check Out Joanna Borov’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joanna Borov.

Hi Joanna, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born in Poland and moved to Los Angeles over a year ago. Although at the time of moving I had barely known anyone, I immediately fell in love with the city and its atmosphere. I came to continue my modeling career which started in London. I have always been passionate about fashion and I started modeling part-time while studying fashion management at the University of the Arts London. Venera Tabakin, a celebrity designer, encouraged me to take part in Miss Motors Formula 1 which I won. After this, I would travel to Monaco on a regular basis for fashion shows, photo sessions and events. I also walked in Paris Fashion Week and London Fashion Week. After moving to Los Angeles, I had a chance to be a part of many wonderful projects and publications including Playboy, Maxim, British Vogue, Marie Claire.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It wasn’t easy but it was definitely worth it! From the time perspective, I see things that I didn’t see a while ago because I was just focused on achieving my goals. I was studying, working as a model, working on other fashion projects, and developing my first business (I own a European brand that makes organic toys and clothes). There was a time that I traveled extensively for work in Europe and to Asia and South America so I was hardly ever at home. When I moved to Los Angeles, I didn’t really know people and I was far away from my family so it felt lonely at the beginning.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a model and influencer. Over the years, I have worked with different designers and brands and took part in many great events. I was on the cover of Playboy and featured in other prestigious magazines like Marie Claire and Maxim. One of my greatest achievements is winning Miss Motors Formula 1 and World Beauty Queen. I’m proud that I graduated with a master’s degree from the University of the Arts London, which helped me learn about the fashion industry. At the moment, I’m working on my first book about healthy lifestyle and mindfulness- I hope to empower and inspire other women to make beneficial lifestyle changes.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was a very active kid and some things never change! I loved animals and since I remember, I have always been passionate about fashion, I remember constantly making costumes for my Barbie dolls and dressing them up. I also remember watching American movies and soap operas dreaming about moving to sunny California one day!
