Check Out jaxxi’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to jaxxi.

Hi jaxxi, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi! Gee thanks excited to be here 🤓 Well,, I was born in the Congo, Africa & my BFF when I was little was a monkey named Hailey but after that, my life got a little snowier when my parents moved to Minnesota & I grew up for most of my life there! I realized recently that I pretty much fit the stereotype of ‘Minnesota Nice’ from ‘friendly Fridley’ lol. I should go smash something in a music video to get some edge, lol. I also in typing say lol a lot 🤓. Lolz. Anywayssss I played classical piano all growing up, playing beautiful songs that other people wrote. Then one day I picked up a guitar and started writing my own songs! They were not beautiful then I’m sure since I used to strum too hard but hopefully they are now! I’m biased because my mom tells me they are good 🤓 jk I actually am so so proud of them for real and what they say and I hope people feel something when they hear them and want to blast them loud on repeat in their car driving at night by themselves enjoying their own company & the moment, or with friends trying to keep your eyes on the road cuz someone’s making you laugh & u still have 5 hours long on your road trip, but you just stopped at a gas station to buy a Red Bull sugar free & while u were there u bought an extra one for the gas station attendant and made them smile after a really long day :)) So I guess I hope my music can be a soundtrack to some beautiful moments in your life. 🤍🖤

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Right now, I’m loving the struggle of understanding and having more control over my own mind! Didn’t even know this was a struggle to be had until recently but as I’m getting into it, i’m realizing how big of a journey it really is. Every time I make 1% improvement here, I feel like I can do anything! Like figuring out how to carve out time to go to the gym regularly and calling myself on my own excuses when I don’t go and trying again for the millionth time amidst the voice in my head of ‘why would u try again just to set yourself up to fail & disappoint yourself?’ your mind can be your best friend and worst enemy, and I’m trying to be friends with & understand both lately 🤗 (in my head lol) I don’t know if I have any enemies in real life but I would probably like to be friends with them too they would be great for self-reflection like… what do u know about me that I don’t know about myself?! Then hear the answer, cry in a corner, get up, work on it 👍 a lot of these ‘mind themes’ are sprinkled heavily in my songs! My song ‘deja vu’ is about the contradicting pressures of wanting to be the same as everyone but different at the same time… & another song how some heights or vices no matter how much or how high can still feel like ‘never enough’’,… & another how the grass can seem greener on the other side but do we ever take time just to lay in our own lawns. That last one’s not even out yet 🤓 excited for u to hear it tho!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
One time I was chillin & selected a random YouTube instrumental music playlist to have on in the background while I did so called chilling, & one of the songs came on mid chill & the guitar sound & melody made me feel nostalgic and I’m such a sucker for nostalgic sounding guitars to dance beats (“sad dance” lol) & I looked up the producer (INOSSI) and his other songs were just as sick (sick in a good way) So I reached out to him to see if he wanted to collab on a song & we did & its #3 on my latest EP called ‘Nights’! We wrote it on zoom, him in Sweden, me in Hollywood, & you can hear that same guitar vibe in the back & I love it so much we are working on a second song coming soon! he’s the one from who I first heard the term ‘sad dance’ to coin the music style we both liked but couldn’t find a good word for it lol – other things I luv in my songs besides guitar, nostalgic melodies, & mind themes… Latin beats! I love speaking Spanish & used to listen to Spanish bands/artists growing up! I’m working on writing a song in Spanish too!

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
DM me on IG! & in case I don’t see it write my business email/manager too – Justin at Vitalic Noise! He’s a super good vibe you’ll all like him 😂🤓 [email protected].
