Today we’d like to introduce you to Auregan.
Hi Auregan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was born in France, Paris was my town. I moved to the US in 2017. I bought a red pick-up truck, started traveling across many states, camping and sleeping in the back of my truck, playing songs everywhere with my ukulele. I’m here in America to come full circle and make country music… It’s always been my goal. Not sure I’m your usual Parisian girl in that sense…
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Well, my personal journey has been quite an adventure. I mean looking back it may have been a little crazy to drive alone all that way… and back… and again… But I gotta say I am feeding on this country-wide and open spaces, the sense of limitless options if you’re ready to create your own opportunities. Of course, there’s been some setbacks and moments of pause, but I had the chance to meet so many people all over the place… I would do it again. And I will!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I had a huge music career in France and Europe, I was kind of spearheading the new wave of Celtic Music but spiced up with heavy rock riffs. I released several albums, I worked hard to reach the point I was the headliner of my own tours. As you may know, Celtic Music and Country Music have the same origins: traditional Irish music. I discovered contemporary country listening to the radio driving across country. This music genre was what I wanted, and now I knew it. I think what sets me apart is that I am the only French girl doing Country Music! And what I’m the most proud of, on a personal note, is that I never let go of my music goals and the need for me to make music and write songs.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Well, this might not be the answer you are looking for but I never felt like a lucky girl. I always worked to make my own space, create my own thing. So luck is not a word I really use, but I can talk about people. Sometimes you start one project, and someone unexpected is going to step in and become a key partner in your creation or the process of moving forward. Well, in a sense, then yes I can say I’ve been lucky to work with many great artists, meet so many different and generous people, and lucky to be here in good health with a story to share.
